So I just picked one up and it's having issues with recognizing anything connected to the Ethernet ports. I've tried a few of them on the newest experimental (1/18 r42025) build. About to test on a random older experimental build then I'll try the normal ones. I know it works with the stock firmware but I have this set up as an extended wired access point and want to have the options that dd wrt gives it.
So I just tested the regular version of r42015 and the Ethernet ports still don't work.

Actually, all of the firmware seems to work except policy routing. Specifically LAN policy routing. All of my devices on the WAN do fine but when I connect my LAN clients and add some port forwards via IPTABLES it all falls apart and doesn't allow any internet access via the router. Anyone have any ideas there?
My RT-AC88U (build 41954) is working fine as a Internet Gateway (DHCP (with fixed leases), USB, SAMBA, MAC filtering). Im using the network ports without issues. If you try to configure the network ports via the GUI it may mess up the configuration since the router has 8 ports (GUI only supports 4 ports). _________________ Asus AC-RT88U (Gateway, asus_rt-ac88u-firmware_52459.trx)

The switch in the BCM SOC only have 4 lan + wan. The remaining 4 ports are located on s second RTL switch. Therefore they cannot be administrated as one switch.

I don't believe I had configured them via GUI. I had things running fine on Merlin before and then it just didn't work anymore. I'm starting to think it's a hardware issue rather than software. Also, I have my NAS port trunked but I also tried it without the trunking and still no luck.
Without touching any settings the LAN ports don't work at all. I'm guessing it's a hardware change from older ac88u I tried a few firmware and none of them work so I went stock and it works perfectly fine. I just will miss the UI for dd wrt.
Actually, I completely wiped the firmware and reset back to factory defaults and then reinstalled DD-WRT. Everything seems to be working now for the last two days.
Running out of options. I have "upgraded" an Archer C7 running ddwrt to an AC88U and I have spent at least 10h trying to set it up.
Any idea as to why none of the 8 LAN ports seems to be alive. I have already cleared NVRAM, it seemed to be working for a bit but now back to square one.
Running 41328 as it was pretty stable on my previous setup.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a comparison and definition of build changes for this model?
I'm assuming from the flash page, that the asus_rt-ac88u-firmware.trx is needed to convert the unit from Asus Firmware to DDWRT firmware.
Can anyone tell me how I can tell the differences in the Beta Builds that are offered on the flash page?
Also, its been awhile since Iv'e used DDWRT firmwares. Are there still different Dev's ie Brainslayer ect that are still contributing?
I have recently bought a new Asus RT-AC88U (AC3100) that is currently still in the box. I'm trying to research what build to flash it with upon converting it to a ddwrt machine.
