Hi,
im confused about the fact, that the list of supported devices contains the WRT300N v2. But the list of NOT supported devices contains it, too? I checked the time when this entry was made in the supported list and recognized that its newer than the entry of the not supported list. So am i right to suppose the WRT300N v2 is now supported?
Ive already checked the download section but under expected place "release candidates/DD-WRT v24 RC6.2/Atheros WiSoc" i was not able to find the WRT300N. So i checked out the other folder and finally found under "release candidates/DD-WRT v24 RC6.2/Broadcom/Linksys/WRT300N_v1" the file "dd-wrt.v24_atheros_wifi.bin". Now im confused again because only the WRT300N v2 has a atheros chip (v1 has broadcom chip). So can sb tell me why is that file contained in the WRT300N_v1 subfolder and not in someone like WRT300N_v2? Or am i wrong and that file isnt for WRT300N?
Thanks for all informations!
OK, then thats my fault. In the list of supported devices under the column "Wireless NIC" you can read the value "atheros" for v2 and "broadcom" for v1. But the relevant column seems to be "Platform & Frequency [MHz]".
But anyway whats with this "dd-wrt.v24_atheros_wifi.bin" file? The v1 has nothing to do with atheros (as far as i can see).
Thanks for reply!

its self explaining when i devide the name
dd-wrt.v24, atheros_wifi.bin
and when i say that the v1 has a mpci slot
To be honest its not self explaining for me because im no expert with these things.
dd-wrt.v24 is the DD-WRT-ROM-Version 24 - thats clear.
atheros_wifi.bin: The only thing it would explain for me is that thats for a WRT300N v1 having a atheros_wifi - Card connected on the routers board (in v1 through Broadcom (cardbus), in v2 through Atheros (mini-PCI))
Is that correct?

the thing is you can install a atheros card, not that there is one shipped with ;-)

ah... ive already assumed that but couldnt beleave that sb. really opens the device and installs a new wifi card.

maybe you can get us some info that we can use for porting
Gladly, what kind of info do you need?
Ive just realized that ive confused the serial cable with a JTAG. But if the serial cable is a 4 or 5 port (cant remember exactly) one, i could get one, too.
we´re looking dorward for such a device. but what we need for porting is the device here in germany on brainslayers desk. so is there a chance that you could ship it over here? _________________ Forum Guidelines...How to get help

Im from Germany, too (Berlin). I wouldnt ship it to another city but i would meet with people and eventually borrow them my device for some time (if i would get it back without any kind of damage).
Another point is: Will the developed DD-WRT version for my device fix the problem with intels 4965AGN. I mean will it be possible to connect with expected n speed and not with g (54MBit)? Because if not i would prefere to sell my device and buy one beeing able to do so.

yes, would be no problem

should be fixed. afaik we support n-draft in dd-wrt with atheros wlan cards
Yes my current FW is doing that, too (tested it with PCI-E from Linksys). The problem is, afaik that the Intel 4965AGN is using draft n 2.0 and my current Routers FW is only using draft n 1.0. So they cant communicate through n connection.
So the question is, if that new developed DD-WRT will be able to communicate through n with my 4965AGN (at least 100MBit/s)?
Because if not, like i told above, i would more likely sell my device and buy another!
_________________ Forum Guidelines...How to get help
