I have the issue that my ath1 (5 GHz/802.11ac) sometimes doesn´t come up. I have several client which don´t see the SSID from ath1 - but not always but mostly. Connecting to invisible SSID doesn´t work neither.

I need to restart the C7 several times until it works.

It´s the second build on this router. He is very new.

What mode, channel, channel width, extension channel, and security type are you using? Its difficult to assess a situation without any relevant info.

Sorry for the lag of information!

Mode: AP
Channel: Auto
Channel Width: Dynamic (20/40MHz)
Wireless Channel: Auto
Extension Channel: Auto (Auto is the only option I have)
Security Mode: WPA2 Personal
WPA Algorithms: TKIP+AES

Maybe, chaning to a static channel made the SSID working for the moment. Also after reboot I can access the SSID.

Do you know If someone is working on this issue?

I have a few recommendations.
Channel: 149 (auto can be inconsistent, and 149 allows higher tx power)
Channel width: vht80 (dynamic can cause dropped connections)
Extension channel: upper (I don't think lower works properly)
WPA Algorithms: AES (tkip isn't considered secure, and it has caused erratic behavior on some builds)
See if that helps. Some of the settings don't always appear in the menus. Change what you can, apply, and check again.

Thank you very much for the help. I will change to the recommended values and will do some tests. I can do it at the earliest on sunday.

What I did now:

Channel: 128
Channel width: vht80
Extension channel: upper
WPA Algorithms: AES

Channel: higher than 128 does not work - I don´t see the 5GHz WLAN
Extension channel: upper works only till channel 132, higher means "Extension channel" only "lower" is possible.
I don´t have a channel 148, channel 140 ist the highest possible.

What country are you set to? That can impact available channels. As I said though, some settings don't show up without some effort. Channels 149+ for some reason are challenging. In the main c7 thread I described the steps I've taken a few times, but they seem to change. http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=972130 a lot is discussed here (possibly overflowing a page or 2 in either direction). From what I've read throughout that thread, vht80 only works properly when set to 36 or 149 +upper. the ath10k driverfor the 5ghz radio isn't perfect. With the settings I provided, I've never had any issues seeing or connecting to 5ghz with any devices though. This includes w10 laptops with both atheros and broadcom n radios, android and apple ac phones, and a Samsung TV. I don't have a chrome cast to test.

Europe doesn't allow 142+. I use US. I can't recommend breaking the law, but US allows the upper channels.

With "United_States" I can only choose channel 46 as the highest Question Is it because I have a AC/N-Mixed Mode?

Keep playing with it. Its a bug that doesn't seem to get any attention. I've setup 12 of these, and they all took some effort. I currently only have access to the one in my house, and currently it will only let me choose 149+.
AC/N-mixed is fine.

It seems that across different chipsets / CPUs the auto channel logic is bugged. I would suggest to contribute infos here:

AC/N-mixed is fine.

I have no chance changing to US for much more channls. I still see max channel 46.

I´am now on channel 124 and it´s fast enough.

If you can explain me in detail what to do to get all channels I will give it a try, otherwise I can live with channel 124. Smile
