I split time between two domiciles (D1 and D2) and I wish to begin using a VPN service at both locations. The service I am considering allows that up to five devices can be connected at any one time. I can use the connections at one or more locations.
I have a Linksys E1000 v2.1 that I have successfully flashed with v24-sp2(05/03/11)mini. I have used this router as a repeater bridge at D1. I also have available a Linksys E3000 in its stock form.
At D1, I share a wireless connection with three other users. I could configure the VPN on this wireless router, but if I did, the other users and their guests would likely use five devices, leaving me with no VPN service when I am at D2.
Is it both possible AND recommended to use a VPN service on the E1000 in repeater bridge mode at D1 with the current build? This unit has 4mb flash ram. |
