So right now, router 1 is a gateway to the internet. DD-WRT.

Has an office subnet of 192.168.0.1, and a WLAN subnet of 192.168.240.1. There is an ethernet cable running to the rear of the shop, for the inventory computer. This is where the WLAN is weakest.

I have a second router. I want to plug that ethernet cable in the back into it (192.168.0.x) but use it to extend the range of WLAN (192.168.240.x). It should be transparent to the back computer. In other words, when the inventory computer comes online, or anything is plugged into the LAN ports, they come up with a 192.168.0.x address. However, if anything uses the wireless back there, it functions the same as if it was one subnet 192.168.240.x.

So just like the main router, the subnets are split between LAN and WLAN. Somehow there must be a tunnel (?) between the rear router and the front router, to carry the WLAN traffic without interfering with 192.168.0.x (except actual capacity of the ethernet carrying both subnets information).

suggestions?
