New KONG PTB => http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/

Remember: This is a Personal Test Build and is highly experimental. Flashing is at your own risk.

[b]This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

I have, on my R7000, successfully flashed this build using

Code:
ddup --flash-latest

You can use too :

Code:
ddup --flash-remote http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin

No reset, so far so good, no issues Very Happy

Thx Kong Smile

Check out the main changelog http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=279467
It says:
[345-350,355-357] Fix: [K2.6,K3.x] Repeater Bridge http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4038
So yes, any build after 27357 should have Repeater Bridge fixed !!! Cool Was a good idea that I insisted on Trac...

I will say I agree with the others who are running BS firmware lately.
The R7000 is showing a higher cpu temp.
I do not know if it is due to the firmware or possibly the method of calculating the temp has been changed.
Normally my cpu hovers around 58-60 ish. Now it is at 68.
I suppose a non sinister result of the semi-recent changes BS made to use both CPU more rather than let one CPU do much of the work while the other is sitting idle.

Otherwise my R7000 is working just fine.

Decided to give it a try on the R7000. Running great here so far...I'm used to CPU temps in the 60's. I start to watch if it gets over 70's, but good into the 90's without a problem *smile*.

The only router I have that even gets into the low 70's is the RT-AC68P, that seems to run a little warmer for some reason. Still not hot.

On the other hand, don't use VPN functionality, or anything else that is compute intensive, so I don't expect to see the temperatures go up.

I see in the change log that the previous release updated the Kernel however in my latest Kong firmware I still show an older kernel.

=> 27343 ----- 2015/06/17 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[333-335] Upd: Kernel 3.18.16, 4.1-rc8

My Kong R7000 shows Kernel 3.10.80
Maybe Kong didn't fully sync up or I am just not reading it correctly.

The kernel version is interesting...it should be updated, unless they had to go back to the previous version for some reason. Although that should show up in the timeline comments, you'd think.

Maybe we'll hear?

Not seeing any channel options for 5GHz AC mode. Is this normal?

Performed a reset during upgrade.

How about you press "Apply" settings now.
That's why I wrote the guide. It tells you exasctly in what order you have to press buttons.

http://tips.desipro.de/2014/02/12/wireless-starters-guide-for-first-time-dd-wrt-users/

If you change width or vht you will get a different channel selection, that's why you always have to setup channels again after a width/extension ch change.

I don't see any higher temps on both R7000/R6300v2 they are exactly where they have been before.

I'm using the latest "stable" dd-wrt kernel for broadcom targets, it is possible, that BS experiments with 3.18 and some of his latest builds shipped 3.18. If you have higher temps, then you maybe run 3.18 kernel and the temperature calculation there is different or, maybe there is a power management related thing going on, then you would have to see this also in power drain e.g. with a power meter.

If you checkout the update:

http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/27356

then you will clearly see, that the latest update to broadcom driver is on kernel 3.10, which is the main kernel right now for most targets.

Some targets already use kernel 3.18, e.g. my Linksys WRT1900AC.

Repeater bridge does not work on VAP (5ghz) of AC68R even after power cycle it. The status/wireless shows the repeater bridge trying to connect with status:

xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx wl1.1 0:00:07 6M N/A VHT80 0 -92 92

Did anybody else try VAP repeater bridge on AC68R/U?
