I have a buffalo WBMR-HP-G300H with latest dd-wrt SVN revision 26138.
I've attached a 2Tb usb HD and everything (torrent, samba, etc.) work fine except read/write speed.
with cable or wifi, if I try to read or write on the disk, I can achive 2,5Mb/sec top.
But hdparm seems to be ok:
Quote: hdparm -tT /dev/sda1
/dev/sda1:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 26 MB in 0.54 seconds = 48850 kB/s
Timing buffered disk reads: 44 MB in 3.09 seconds = 14559 kB/s
What could be the cause? I barely can watch HD movies through the network with my media center with this speed...

2nd time hdparm...even better:
/dev/sda1:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 38 MB in 0.51 seconds = 75976 kB/s
Timing buffered disk reads: 51 MB in 3.11 seconds = 16763 kB/s
But the samba read/write speed remains very slow...

What is the filesystem in the HDD? I have been able to get between 10 and 12 Mbps consistently on ext4, mounting with noatime and nodiratime options using a startup script, which also runs a fsck at every mount (forcing a full check if it is not clean or has not be checked fully for a while - default options).
Try a different HDD or USB too, just in case.

Just note:
I have 2 TB USB 2.0 with these partitions
ext3 - 10~13 Mbps
NTFS - 2~3.5 Mbps
So..., first check the file system
