Hello,
Warranty on my RT-N66U expired and I decided it was time to flash it.
However I think I bricked my RT-N66U after flashing it with dd-wrt.v24-24461_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N66U.trx
Any help will be highly appreciated
This was not my 1st flash
However it was 1st on this device.
prior to flesh the ipconfig was
Address 192.168.1.5
subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
So I fleshed with mini. After progress bar filled I received message
"Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh.
Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-N66U.
To access the settings of RT-N66U, reconnect to the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number."
After that I tried to access it on 192.168.1.1 I was not able.
I powered off and on router = same page not found.
I tried to clear NVRAM(I am not sure if I managed) = same page not found.
I tried to go in recovery mode, and this point I think where it is located. However trying to access it on 192.168.1.1 I am unable.
Knowing this would not be simple fix i removed router from network and substituted with my old router.
At this moment RT-N66U is only connected from port 1 to my laptop. and my laptop only connected to this router.
Router's only two LED are on. Power and port 1(sometimes flashing).
I just powered off device pressed WPS and powered on
This should have cleared the NVRAM.
At this moment i see 2.4GHz LED came up.
However i Am not bale to connect to it on 192.168.1.1
Also look into the "AESUS Firmware Restoration Utility"
if you can't find it details on the forum, just google it. (It is a download from your OEM, they should have instructions.) _________________ reenignE esreveR
Resistance is NOT futile... It's Voltage divided by Current!
Assumptions:
1. Everyone on the forum has read the relevant forum section announcements.
2. For Broadcom section we have ALL at least tried to understand the "Peacock" thread,HERE
And if you get it working again use the k3.X trailed build for it.
You flashed a 32k nvram build on your router which probably has the updated cfe with 64k nvram. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
No, it wouldn't.
If need be try serial recovery. These routers have the headers soldered and labeled.
It's pretty easy. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

I have never done anything over serial. Except of playing with my Parallax developing board, Also I do have serial to usb cable is there any guide that you would recommend.
This router is my trophy against ASUS(if you are interested I can PM you about it).

Exact same problem. I'll be following this thread and will also update with my results.
EDIT:
I flashed it once but missed the "wait until router reboots by itself" part. When I cleared the NVRAM after flashing I got the original ASUS firmware again so I tried to flash it again. It seemed like it worked but then when it started again it was stuck exactly as described by OP. Same build and everything.
Pinging the router gives nothing. All the tricks bring up the same screen.

The only way I have been able to access recovery mode with my RT-N66U running DD-WRT firmware (version independent)
Power off RT-N66U, wait ~10 seconds
Press and Hold WPS button and then Power On the router
Continue holding WPS button for ~10 seconds
Still pressing the WPS button, press and hold Reset button ~10 seconds
Now, release WPS button, wait ~10 seconds and
Then release the Reset button
Power light should blink slowly indicating the router is in Recovery Mode.
