Have three R7800 routers in a Client Bridge chain over a long stretch, 2.4Ghz, VHT40, signal is not very strong, about 40%.
At the farthest router VANILLA firmware (set on all 3) gives me double the speed vs DD-WRT firmware, circa 30 Mbps vs 15 Mpbs.
All settings are the same, nothing really special.
Wonder why...

VHT40 is too wide, try VHT20...as its more narrow...
it also depend from other WiFi settings too...expose them all here, also you didn't mention your router firmware number, you are on..
did you read your homework...

ddwrt firmware is just not good, period. on every radio i tried on (wave 1 and wave 2 chips). rates are all super low and unstable, clients randomly drop off etc _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Does R7800 support client mode in netgear firmware? _________________ Upgraded to
