Hello folks,
Well I bought a new wrt54gs v7 and installed the software as suggested and everything went well but. I'm not able to access the internet with wlan or lan throught the router.
The router lights are correct. Internet light on Port 1 on for lan and power light is on steady, Also the cisco systems light is on.

Reset it back to defaults but still no luck.
any suggestions?

I was able to flash my v7 WRT54GS router without issue and all is well now.

My only problem is I cannot find the snmp support. Is it not available in this release?

Here is another one for the books, I was not getting any joy after i flashed it again. I could ping the router and get response but it would not connect to the internet with either lan or wlan so I decided to revert back. So I ran the revert bin and consoled the linksys file back to the router. Rebooted and reset it also. Well I plugged the cable back in to the internet port and was not getting anything, so I tried plugging it into one of the 4 lan ports and I was able to access the net. So it's working somewhat but not right. I got to thinking when I first started at flash the dd-wrt file I inadvertently plugged into the internet port not in one of the lan ports and ran the software. When I noticed that nothing was happening, I noticed what I did and put in into one of the correct lan ports. I think by doing this I burned the port out by trying to upload to it. So the router kind of working now. Is there something I could do apart from getting another router? Suggestions would be welcomed.

I've used the earlie flash FAQ and using vxworkskiller killed my 4th LAN port.

How would I attempt the newer version of vxworkskiller to see if I get my 4th port back? I can't upload it to dd-wrt, and using reset/etc on the back do not seem to work even though boot_wait is set.

I currently have DD-WRT v24 RC-7 (02/18/08) micro running on this weak little beast like a charm, however, I just got a VoIP fax, and I need the fourth port!

Thanks!

Is there a version RC6.2 for WRT54Gv8? Is it 'dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin' or should I be using the RC5 version? I've been out of the loop since September/October. Confused

Thanks Wingit for all the help you've given me.
Finally my router is back to life after the 5 lit LEDs symptom.
I put the RC 6.2 firmware and it works without a problem. Now I will dedicate my time in learning the new firmware's features. Speacialy the repeater mode, actually that's why I flashed it in the first place.
Thanks again Wingit. I also PM-ed you.
