I'm trying to help out friends whose only Internet access is via a wireless "Captive Portal" that requires authentication via a web page before they can get Internet Access. After authentication it passes all traffic (not just web). They have various network devices that are not capable of doing that authentication directly (e.g. Chromecast and TV).

It seems to me that there should be a way to set up a local wireless access point and router that uses NAT to connect to the Captive Portal, authenticate once via a laptop browser, and then have the rest of the traffic pass through. The Portal should not recognize the individual devices due to NAT and should pass all their traffic. It should see only one MAC address - the router.

Is this feasible? Does it require two separate devices (e.g. a router and a wireless bridge: router<->bridge<->wireless portal)?

Thanks,
Bob
