Same problem as in the previous two builds: on an E3000, the dual radio is shown as 2.4 GHz only and no matter what I set in nvram it still defaults to 2.4 GHz only after I press Apply. Used build: dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e3000.bin.

Flashed dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin on my e2000 and e3000 router (originally with dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin installed), the E3000 works fine, wireless 2.4GHz and 5GHz ok. The E2000 got bricked. I am able to ping e2000, but cannot open GUI or telnet.

Another problem with the mentioned router: after the hard disk goes to sleep, all of its attached partitions get dismounted. This does not happen in K26 builds.

Although, it may partly be due to the hard disk itself (Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04e8:6014 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd ).

(SVN revision 23720)

wl ver:

4.150 RC10.5
wl0: Mar 13 2014 05:39:57 version 4.150.10.31

Linksys EA6500v1

Flashed from dd-wrt-23720-ea6500.trx to dd-wrt-23838-ea6500.trx.
Did 30/30/30 before and after flash as well as reset.

2.4GHz and 5GHz working fine and seem to be solid.
Uptime 6 hours and no issues so far.

Unbricked my E2000, and then
Loaded dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e2000.bin -->WIFI does not work.

Loaded dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_Mega.bin --> OK, wifi works.

E1000:
Loaded dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e1000v1.bin --> WIFI does not work!

On an E4200 with dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200 WiViz does not work. Even the dots are no longer moving, they were moving even in non-functional WiViz versions.

Asus RT66U

1) when PPoE configured FTP listings still hang

2) 2.5 GHz still breaks after about 5 minutes of usage.

Linksys E3000

previous: 21676 K3.X
upgrade: dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e3000.bin

procedure: "erase nvram", flash, hard reset

booted up and configured with no problems (including the setup of the 5 GHz setup)

WiFi signal is much better than 21676. However, 5 GHz wifi isn't able to connect at all. My phone can see it -- however, it appears to be in a rolling reboot, as the signal goes up, then goes to nothing, then back up.

Edit: so, I went back to 21676 and then to stock to check the 5 GHz band. It behaved the same on all the FW. Then I looked for the N4 and found out it was a known 5 GHz regression that shows that behavior.

So, I don't really know if the 5 GHz band is working or not, as I don't have any reliable clients at the moment.

Although, in flashing around to the various builds, I ran into a problem where the device thought that it was a "WRT54GS/GL/GT" and wouldn't boot up fully anymore. Doing hard reset and "erase nvram" didn't clear the situation. I was still able to access the GUI for a bit and it said the same thing for the router version. Eventually, it bricked and I had to serial recover (the problem was I think when I went back between 21676 and 23838).

Once I was on stock, I couldn't go directly to 23838 because it kept thinking it was the wrong router. I had to go to 21676 first following full procedure, and then go to 23838. I then did a hard reset on that build to make sure it wasn't an issue with the hard reset on the 23838, and it did the reset correctly. So, I don't know what caused the problem, but from the forum, someone else had the issue as well.

There may be a problem going directly from stock to 23838 for the E3000.

Flashed K3.x variant on ASUS RT N66U without reset.

Wireless performance for 2.4GHz is very poor, dropped back to 23194 as this seems to be the latest build that gives good 2.4GHz performance.

Is it purely a wireless driver issue?

On an E4200 with dd-wrt.v24-23838_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k neither Site survey nor WiViz work.

I can confirm that this fixed my ability to mount a USB 2.0 drive as FAT32 and transfer large multi-gig files to the NAS drive.

In order to completely clear NVRAM, besides 30x30x30 I'd recommend to run the erase nvram command.

Site survey has not been running since a few version behind, but the WiViz works well, after some time.

Both ethernet and wireless connections are delivering full bandwidth in this version. WiFi is very stable, the best one of the K3.x I've tried for my E4200 v1.
