This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build. (eg: 23720_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless.
If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

Broadcom builds of std and nokaid no longer fit on a 4M flash...don't even bother.

Just tried the K2.6 big build on my Asus RT-N16 - reset data during flash process...now it will boot up but no wireless at all...wireless LED flashes on for 1 second...then off permanently.

Disappointed in all builds past 16537 build for this unit...will recover back to my old 16537 K2.6 big build again.

Netgear WNDR4000.
dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin

upgraded from:
dd-wrt.v24-23598_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin

No reset. No issues at this time.

Another shoutout to Eko and others for K3.x builds below 8MB size and all the improvements to the builds.

I have been waiting for a while but it seems this is not on the roadmap.

VLANs are not working beyond VLAN ID 15 just because we can't assign a PVID. The PVID is hardcoded in the router source instead of taking it from an environment variable.

Could it be possible to add this change to the roadmap. This would get us closer to a real router.

I know what to change for the Broadcom RoboSwitch and know it works but lack the knowhow of compiling the code for my RT-N66U.

In the beggining, maybe this change could not be ported to the GUI but at least, we would be able to use VLANs other than 1 to 15.

If you try to assign another ID to the VLAN and do not tag it, the switch will remove the VLAN when the packet enters. On the other hand, if you tag the interface and add a VLAN ID to it you get double tags that confuses the hell out of my equipments and breaks the standard.

The router needs a PVID.

Flashes fine, but can confirm that, as reported in ticket 3151, the wifi still does not broadcast properly after a hard or soft reset on K2.6 unless you hit "Apply Settings" on the wifi page while connected through an ethernet cable.

dd-wrt.v24-23720_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-WNDR4500.bin - WiFi dropouts take place in a degree making router using impossible. The issue doesn't depend on WiFi client (five different clients are in use) and on the mode in use (N, NG,..) as well as on the distance between client and router (in range from 2-3m directly to 7-8m across 1 or 2 walls). On the same place jnr3210 with original firmware works ideally without a single dropout during ages Smile

Hi Red.. Not to get this thread off topic but I have run builds past 19XXX on my N16 with no wireless issues. Currently, my N16 is not in service.

i believe the last 2.6 build where wireless worked on the Asus RT-N16 was 21676. I think the wireless issue on 2.6 affects other routers as well. wireless works on 3.x builds.

Edited to say: Successful webflash from 3.x 23598 Mega to 3.x 23720 Big with no reset.

most noticeable thing for me is that the drives mounted under /mnt/sda and /mnt/sdb again instead of /mnt/sda_part1 and /mnt/sdb_part2. Don;t know if it makes a difference.
