I have a 4TB usb 3 HDD plugged into the usb 3 port on the router and a 750GB usb 2 hdd plugged into the esata/usb2 port. Neither is mounting or displaying.
plugoff the esata / usb port. it has never been tested and i can't test it since it uses a strange connector and i have no cable for this
OK, I'll give that a try. I know it's a strange connector, but you can plug a normal usb into it. It took me a while to work out that you could, but it takes both esata and usb.
i never seem to be able hit hit my max connection speed or 180mbps from my isp on 5ghz AC with an iphone 6 plus.. any suggestions sometimes it does then dies back to like 30mbps. weird. i have all the manual settings configured, channel, vht 80 enabled. i set the channel to 149. any ideas anyone???

Have you tried the usual stuff with Apple clients, like forgetting the wireless network and relogging in, and rebooting your iPhone? "Reset network settings" can help, too. I have an iPhone 6 as well, and it usually speed tests at near my max download speed (over 150Mbps) with my WRT1900AC v1. Also using the usual settings, vht80 and channel 149, short preamble, etc.
Of course, when I see a speed test at over 150Mbps, I don't run another one. Are you saying that the phone speed drops during the same speed test, or on a subsequent speed test?
same speed test same server just 30 minutes or so apart. i tried resetting the iphone, and reconnecting to no avail. this doesnt happen on my asus router.
I was wondering if the usb lights on the wrt AC series routers such as
WRT1900acv1
WRT1900acv2
WRT1900acs
WRT1200ac
would blink when there is USB activity going on. I would also like to know if they could turn on when a usb device is connected and then turn off when a device is disconnected.
this is something i would love to see happen on these wrt1900ac routers and also on other routers that have USB lights.

Ok, so I can only get USB to work on DD-WRT v3.0-r28211 std (11/16/15), the later two builds won't mount my hard drives and when I perform a reboot always take me back to stock FW.
So, r28211 is the only build that is stable for me on the V2.
I'm having trouble connecting to my VPN via openvpn. Is anyone able to help. I have configured as per the instructions on my vpn's website- ipvanish. However, it just won't connect.

Has anyone tried BS's new build on V2, is it working well?
Also, when reverting back to Linksys firmware, I presume I would use the "ACS" version, since "v2" and "ACS" are pretty much the same product?
this is why i provide a ACS and the V2 version, but your're right. the V2 and the ACS is the same device. just renamed
Thanks very much for your response.
The reason why I asked is on Kong's link, he has dd-wrt back to factory, for WRT1200AC, WRT1900AC, and WRT1900ACS. Nothing identifiable for the WRT1900ACv2.
However, I am just reverting back to primary factory image when changing images anyway. Seems less risky, and it sure doesn't take much time to do it.
Your image on the WRT1900ACv2 is running flawlessly for me.
I have a bunch of them running in production now, they have replaced a few AC66U. Range and performance is much better compared to the Asus.
With stock firmware, I compared this router to both the Netgear R7000 and the Asus RT-AC68U. I found the Netgear and Linksys to be quite a bit better than the Asus in terms of range and performance.
As for comparing the the R7000 to the WRT1900AC, I put it like this:
I have 4 critical locations in my house, I will call them A, B, C, and D. I will rate performance on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best.
With the Netgear, my coverage looked like this:
A - 10
B - 10
C - 8
D - 4
With the Linksys, it looks like this:
A - 9
B - 9
C - 8
D - 7
I found the Netgear to be a little more extreme but with the 4:3x3 antenna configuration, I found the Linksys to be quite bit more well-rounded.
Only problem that I see here that I haven't seen mentioned is that if I reboot my router (WRT1900AC v1 on build 28366) after configuring wireless, my Apple clients can't get on the wireless. I have two iPhone 6's and two iPad's that get a lot of use, so this is an issue for me.
I've found that if I disable the radios and re-enable them (without rebooting, of course) that the Apple clients get back on the wifi immediately, but without doing that workaround, they cannot use the wireless.
Not a showstopper for me, but very odd. I've also seen this with previous firmware releases, but hadn't worked out how to fix it without a full factory reset and reconfiguration until 28366.
Update: Turns out to be even easier...all I have to do is click "Apply" on the wireless configuration page (no changes needed), and my Apple clients come back on the wireless. Just weird. I've also eliminated both IPv6 and "short preamble" as the source of the problem, those are the only "unusual" settings that I have.
That brings up the idea of adding a startup script that re-applies the wireless configuration at reboot. Don't know how to do that, or if it can be done, but in my head it sounds like that would work around this problem *smile*.
Has someone report that Site Survey is not working for 5 GHz on the WRT1900ACV1?
I checked the tickets but could not find that it has been reported and it has not worked for me for sometime.
My E3000 can see my WRT1900ACV1 on Ch 64 but the WRT1900AC cannot see the E3000 on Ch 136
2.4 GHz Site Survey is working.
i made a quick test. site survey on channel 136 works. i configured a qualcom atheros ap to 136 and used site survey on wrt1900v1. no issue. channel result is shown. check your setup
My Country is set to USA on WRT1900AC but I cannot find a Wireless Country setting on the E3000.
I changed the channel of the E3000 to a lower ch 56 and I can see it on the WRT1900AC. When I go to a higher channel for example 128 the WRT1900AC cannot see the E3000 on that cahnnel.

My VPN requires that. I use AES-256-CBC as a cipher encryption, but this option isn't available.
On a WRT1900ACv2 is not working at least for me.
When activating usb config in webif my router bricks.
This happen also without inserting any usb pendrive.
