The model is WRT54GX2, Serial Number on the back: KKJ00FC11436. Is that sufficient or the router has to be opened up to get another serial number or version number?
I ask because I already have a WRT54G with DD-WRT installed with it and want to create a wireless bridge between the above mentioned router and the WRT54GX2. Thanks in advance.

Device needs to be opened up, and best thing is if you could provide pictures from insides too... But generally these suys want texts that are printed to chips in the circuitboard, then they can tell if those components are even near compatible with DD-WRT, and/or can DD-WRT be made compatible with it.
The info on the covers are basically meaningless, as they just tell some serial etc that Linksys has made up for the device. Insides is all that matters. _________________ Site 1:

I had already opened mine to see what it has, so here are some pictures. Let me know if you need a closer shot of something or those soldered covers opened.
This is the back of the card, after being removed from the case. The switch and power ports are soldered to this side, and other components under the cover. Text upper left: RT3105W 28-000311 REV1.1 2/18/2005
The first cover on the other side just protects the back of the components from the switch side. The MiniPCI card seems to be secured to the main PCB by soldering some pins that go though the main, MiniPCI, and the cover. (circled in red)
Not at all Dewhurst, thanks for the helpful photos. May I ask how you got your router opened? I'm still trying with opening mine when I get the time. Thanks
