I've searched the forums and it's clear that the WRT300N v1.1 is not supported and there are no active plans to add support for this revision of the device.
Apparently the changes from v1.0 to v1.1 are that the ROM and RAM have both been doubled, and that the device has a different wlan card (both changes unconfirmed)?
If this is the case surely the device can be supported? Has anyone done research to figure out what causes the continuous cycle of reboots problem when flashed?
Any feedback would be great Smile

Yeah why doesn't it support 1.1?

The only difference between v1.0 and v1.1 is that it has an integrated radio instead of the CardBus card.

and not to mention Sveasoft has a working one for wrt300n 1.1.
I really hate it, but its something. I really hope dd-wrt comes through soon.

I went to the Sveasoft page, and the Talisman/Basic is only available for the 300n 1.0 -- do I have to pay for the more advanced versions?

I'm willing to do that, but I just want to make sure before I plunk down 25 bucks.

If the v1.1 is anything like the 150N 1.1, DD-WRT will run on it, however you wn't have full functionality. The 150N 1.1 didn't support WDS.

I would rather not take the chance on bricking my only router in the hopes of this working -- if it was officially supported, that would be different.

Sveasoft's solution is official, I just don't know which one to choose.

lol you know I used to be such a strong supporter of linksys equipment, but these days i walk through a circuit city/best buy etc and see piles of shitty v8 wrt54g's and 300n v1.1's and think to myself how all those routers have been cut down to the bare minimum in specifications and the price has barely changed. Linksys is just raking in the cash. I mean you cant even detach the antennas on the latest revisions. what a load of bs.

I was originally turned to DD-WRT by the fact that to this DATE, Linksys has STILL not put out proper-working 350N firmware (I have since come to love its added functionality such as signal strength right on the router page, etc...) From now on, I absolutely refuse to buy Linksys hardware.

The software for their WiFi cards are a joke too. (They refuse to connect to WPA networks apparently, I have to let XP manage the WiFi connection for WPA/WPA2 connections to work)

no idea why dd-wrt wont support it. for the hell of it, i did try to flash the wrt300n v1.1 with the std and mini version, both didnt work. the router was bricked. sveasoft has the correct version though for this router. seems like those guys are way ahead of dd-wrt.

It's just having the unit on desk - then it can be supported in 2 hours.

Anyway, test build is coming in few minutes.

I think that ever since Cisco bought Linksys, that is when everything started going down hill.

bad news, this build bricked router ;( same classic symptom... continuous reboots and no response from 192.168.1.1 to tftp because it reboots too quickly and drops lan connection.
oh well

Can you try to hold reset button pressed in while booting. Maybe just this is wrong.
