I have flashed and older wrt54gs many years ago with DDDWRT and I am ready to flash my E4200 v1. I have read the peacock thread and reviewed the wiki for the e4200. I have seen posts regarding issues with specific builds, but nothing really specific about whats working. The wiki and router database thread contradict regarding what builds to use for initial flashing. I realize it doesn't matter what build number I use for the initial flash if I am going to immediately upgrade it to a better build. I do know it has be a trailed version for the initial flash and MUST BE nv60k or trailed there after. Just need some help picking the right build.
Can i please get pointed in the right direction. Thanks.
i thnk from now on, ill ask if users have a fast internet speed. that way, i can suggest them the right build that cna handle their internet connection.
that internet speed. i noticed allot of people on here say that some builds cannot handle their fast internet speeds. why on earth do you need something like 150mbps for your home? is 50mbps not fast enough?? or are you trying to increase your internet cap speed? _________________ Is everything okay?
if your flashing fom stock linksys, flash this build and it will take you straight to k3 21676 0u0 yes.
I've already done an initial flash with dd-wrt.v24-18777_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e4200.bin. Do I have to roll back to factory firmware before using the firmware that you mentioned?
its ok. you can still flash straight to it. let us know how it work though
The flash went OK. But, I had some trouble getting the settings to be permanant. And I setup wl1 for 5GHz N Only but I couldn't get it out of Auto frequency mode. My laptop gets a strong enough 5 GHz signal from the router but it won't associate with wl1. Here's the output of iwlist:
Short answer is that as of today, I'm still recommending 23040, along with the config suggestions in the above-linked article.
Steve consider a note for the recommendation, all builds between ~19000 and ~28880 include he openssl heartbleed bug.
I already moved my affected builds into an archive directory _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/
