Everyone! I see a lot of thanks and best wishes to BrainSlayer over his great work, but I think it is time we all did something more.

Somewhere in the last topics Sebastian made it clear that he is still largely depending on our donations for making a living and he gave as an example that he still drives an old Golf II that is slowly falling apart.

I would want to make this a sticky fundraiser topic, meant to pull the whole donation issue out of obscurity and into the light, in a funny but nevertheless serious way.

I propose that we all state in this topic how much we have donated (also if you have donated in the past, before this) and I will then keep track of the total (also in the topic title). Target should be to get enough together to buy BS a new(er) VW Golf. That however is just for fun, of course BS can do with the money whatever suits him best.

Of course, I will start.

--------------------------------------

Using: 1 WRT54GL in semi-commercial (small firm, not earning money with it) setting running DD-WRT.

Donation: 10€.

--------------------------------------

Total now is: 1847€.

--------------------------------------

There are now various methods available to make a donation:

- via bankaccount:
Bic/Swift-Nr: GENODEF1OHZ
IBAN DE49 2916 2394 0733 6594 00

- via PayPal, donate to:
newcar@dd-wrt.com

- via MoneyBrokers, donate to:
mb@dd-wrt.com

--------------------------------------

On the old forum, this topic was at http://forum.bsr-clan.de/ftopic8220.html. There you can see how BrainSlayer has pledged his rusty old Golf to the poor soul that will donate him the largest amount of money. Laughing

PS Brainslayer, the first try I made to get this one started again at the new forum failed, I now know that it is because this one does not that the € sign in a topic title very well... Rolling Eyes Sad

Maybe you can solve that, anyways you can delete the failed post.

Maybe also make this one sticky again?

May have to do with your settings for (default) charset used by the forum.

Okay, I am in.

I want to contribute to this effort but not sure about buying someone other than my wife a car.

That said, I want to make a donation in names of others rather than Cancan. So, I pledge 25 Euros in the name of BrainSlayer; if it were not for him, there would be no DD-WRT and 25 Euros in the name of Eko; if it were not for him there would be no Cancan using DD-WRT and therefore no 50 Euro donation.

Thanks to all who have contributed to my DD-WRT experience. I am off to paypal

I've pledged to myself to donate $5 for every access point I install for a client. I know, it's not much, but it's an easy sell and if everybody did so Brainslayer could afford a trebuchet for his Golf. I'm behind on my payments; I'll probably be caught up in a few weeks.

We all have a vested interested in DD-WRT not doing a Sveasoft. All that said, most small businesses take about 3 years to get to the point where you don't have trouble paying the bills. I've got another year to go myself but I think I'll make it.

I just donated 10 Euro, for the same reason as brakits (home use, single unit). Great firmware.

This firmware is the best... I just got openvpn server working on router... thanks to great documentation. To think I started out with sveasoft firmware but looking for a crack for it and stumble on this DD-WRT. Never looked back and don't mind donating to this at all.
