Build 14929 micro is currently installed on a WRT54g v8.1. When I try to restore the original Linksys firmware, via the web gui (and after a 30-30-30 reset), I get the message "Upgrade Failed".

I also tried with Tftp: set static ip, reset power plug, hit "upgrade" button just as I saw a ping on the router. This time it says the upgrade was successful, but after resetting it I still have DD WRT installed.

(The Linksys firmware I'm trying to use is named "FW_WRT54G_8.1.09.02_US_20071227.bin" and is 1.75Mb.)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have.

try this.. This is the OEM firmware for a wrt54g V8.1.

I have modified the header so dd-wrt will allow the flash. Flash via gui.

Make sure you have your av & firewall software disabled. Make sure you select the reset to factory setting after the flash from the drop down on the upgrade gui page.

If you have dd-wrt on the V8.X now...then you no longer have a vxworks BSP....you have a Linux CFE. You must run a reversion utility to get back to OEM.

The 8.1 has a linux cfe. No prep or killer is required for the install of dd-wrt. No reversion needed.
