I already have dd-wrt.v23_sp2_standard version on may wrt54gl v1.1 router.
Should I install mini version of DD-WRT v24 RC2 again,
or to upgrade std verson of DD-WRT v24 RC2 directly.

You should be able to go directly to the v24rc2 STD.

You can try and maintain the current settings but you will more than likely reset to factory default after the upgrades. So be sure to right down any "special" configuration information you think you will need for reconfiguring after the upgrade.

Remember: do not restore from a v23 backup

do like choman said, never restore your v23 backup configuration to v24.. just do hard reset for 30 second BEFORE and AFTER flash the new firmware ..
