Hi,

How to upload a *.ovpn setting file and make it as default configuration of the VPN service?

I downloaded a *.ovp file from http://www.vpngate.net/en/ this is a new open relay vpn service by the way.

I'd like to config my router so it can easy connect (and each time when i take another vpn server). So how to upload and activate a *.ovpn setting file in the ddwrt router?

The goal is all wireless clients don't notice anything about being tunnelled though a vpn. So everybody is automatedly on a vpn without the need to configure each wireless client seperately.

I gues interesting for everybody!

Cheers

You don't. Open the .ovpn file in notepad or equivalent software to get the settings to enter into ddwrt GUI under openvpn client.

Writer of the openvpn site to site tutorial @ddwrt wiki emailed me:

Code:
"You have to copy the file to your router and then invoke your openvpn binary with this file as the one containing parameters to launch."

He helped me alot with that but i dont know how to do it

After that he replyed
Code:
"I wrote my article (site to site vpn)on my spare time while doing the config for myself and just wanted to share with everyone. I frankly don't have the time to make any extra efforts now, please feel free to reach out in the forum for some help about that!"

So here i am, asking how to "copy the file to your router and then invoke your openvpn binary"

To copy a file to the router you can enable ssh in ddwrt and download WinSCP or equivalent software. Use WinSCP to copy files to your router.

here is a screenshot of openvpn client

Where to store the *.ovpn file? Or where to alter the path so the deamon can use it?
