looking at the firmware update for the Linksys WRT54G-TM v1.1 shows it to be almost 4MB so i guess it could be possible this router is = v4 or lower model?
Typing numbers taken from chips into Google suggests that the DLink has 4M flash/16M RAM, and the Linksys has 32M RAM and a sticker over the flash chip.
Your D-link is 100% NOT supported. DOn't load d-wrt.
To Linksys: Looks like flash size is 8MB (you lucky b***** !), I think any dd-wrt version will run.
I agree with Eko, I think it would work one thing I flashed the firmware for the WRT54G-TM to my wrt54gs v4 and it just ended up bricking it so I recovered it back to ddwrt. Im curious to what is different about the tmobile firmware.
LOL~ Thanks guys.
I will try to load dd-wrt to the WRT54G-TM when i got time.
By the way, how should I recover it if the router is bricked?
Thanks again. ^^

JTAG!! Please don't try shorting pins as you'll see suggested in some places. It's a lame, archaic, backwards-ass method that will most likely ruin your router. JTAG is the ONLY way to go.
Also, where did you get that baby? How much was it? Can I get one?? Thanks!! _________________ Clear 4G Wimax.

cool, thx fot the info. So I should find the JTAG diagram in case something bad happen.
t-mobile us is selling these router with the 2 uma phones they released... and for some reason i did not pay for them, so i am trying to see if they are more valueble than what they look like
but appearanly the d-link is useless now...
I think it's a safe assumption that the 12 pin port labeled JP1 is the JTAG port. It'd probably take a bit of tweaking of the HairyDairy JTAG utility to get it to work with the chips you've got, but there are plenty of geniuses here who can work that part out easily enough. Given enough time, I could probably figure it out eventually.....so it's not that hard to do. JTAG cables are fairly easy to build...it's getting the parts on small quantities that's tricky. I sell quality JTAG cables with a lifetime guarantee if you're interested in purchasing one.
If you decide you want to get rid of that router, let me know!! _________________ Clear 4G Wimax.
