if yours is on the right side, you should turn it by 180 degrees and try it again _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s
yeah I have it right, it spews output but its all garbage, I checked cable and pins against e2500 I get serial dump, my guess is bad solder join underneith the board...
I have tried for several hours now to get good output from this device, I have been only able to get scrolling ascii. I have checked the connections, and verified it works on e2500 router.
My unit could very well have a bad serial port. You are 100% correct on your settings, I get the output when pins are attached as you display above.
I am convinced its the comm port, is there another one on the board I can sold pins to?
I hook up pin header to ea2700, I get output as well..
so admitting defeat unless I can get attached to another port.

nope. i did nothing special. maybe your converter isnt accurate enough. mobile cabled wont work with every device. i use a standard max323. another problem could be bad grouding. so use usb shield as gnd for instance _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? or easier. install the attached firmware. login with telnet and get me the data. but never do a erase nvram or something like that from the console. i need the data first.
the fw itself will already work

Pushed firmware that brainslayer put out on the FTP. All looks good I like the new layout. No problems, just upload the firmware, for my first attempt I had to redo the router configurations but after that it is working good, probably better than the linksys firmware. No problems will wait for 24 hours to see if there is any issue.

Not sure if this is a bug but applying the lower channels on router in 5 Ghz mode my other routers were not able to connect, 40,48,60 or 64. Had to manually go back in and set it to 161 for my routers to connect to it.
Also changing UTC requires a router reboot. Tried on both EA6500 and EA6900. IMO shouldn't require a complete router reboot to accomplish.

not every channel is supported on all devices. the supported channels depends on the country setting and on the supported channels by the vendor for sure. some vendors exclude higher channels to avoid the radar conformance tests _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? I can confirm. I had the default router firmware then I just clicked upload firmware via the webui with the bin file listed above. And BAM! I have a useable router now. The linksys stuff was pretty horrible.
