Yeah.. so maybe just let's wait for the the official/stable release. This is a little bit too compliacetd for my taste :)

Not until there is an official stable release (or you build it yourself). The official releases include the LUCI web interface.
If you want to prepare yourself for OpenWrt, then first read this complete thread (takes time, but has lots of useful information) and check out the OpenWrt wiki.
Managing the configuration via "uci" without a web interface gives you all opportunities OpenWrt offers.
It will also make you feel more comfortable using OpenWrt, maybe even try out one of the betas I built (of course at your own risk).

Apparently, Linksys/Cisco released the latest firmware for WRT350N v2.0 under GPL:

Do you believe this might help speed things up with DD-WRT?

Cisco has always released the code for WRT350N v2 under GPL, so it has always been available.

Okay, so I'm guessing it doesn't speed things up then. Rolling Eyes

Has this gone anywhere lately? OpenWrt is making good progress with the new Backfire release ( http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03-rc1/ ).

There's a somewhat vivid discussion on the subject at https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=12358.

I'm really hoping to see DD-WRT on my WRT350Nv2 some day Smile

the processor is the same as the Actiontec routers already supported by DD-WRT all you need to know is the wireless chip and you are good to go

Moderator note 08.27.21: This device will never be supported by DD-WRT as it is a Marvell device; unless BS changes his mind. https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Linksys_WRT350N_v2
