Hi,
i have a grey wrt350N and i am using on it DD-WRT firmware rc2 24 and its working great,
i had lot of problem with wirless connections but i found out that some frequencies in the DD-wrt for the wirless band make it unstable.
now its been more then 2 month stable.

Thanks guys for that beaitful dd-wrt firmware, i am going to try thr rc3 now.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

All I can suggest is -> buy a router that is supported by DD-WRT,
or else - enjoy using Linksys firmware.

To buy an unsupported router, and then ASK/hope the DD-WRT developers to support it...
well...that may or may not happen.

Meanwhile, you spent your money on a "hope".
It's not the smart approach.

If you want V2 support, someone send their router to BrainSlayer.

I'm in the same boat as cjdk, I would send my router but it is the only one I have and my wife is using it....

I am prepared to do the development work to merge the kernel sources, which Linksys have made available into the sources used for dd-wrt.

BEFORE I start I would like to know if anyone is already doing this, as it would be duplicate and waste of time and it will take me a long time anyway as I don't have much free time.

If you don't want to reply to my post so you don't get pressurised Wink, feel free to PM me. I will not reveal names of those who PM.

Provided that person doesn't mind everyone else knowing that development is underway,

Just a thought if anyone has found any useful links on howto get into the box or even wire up the JTAG port or any potentially useful information please post it here.

I was having a brief look at doing the merge, but I don't really have time to do it. I do have the serial port hooked up so I can do testing by netbooting a kernel image and seeing if it works. You should check out the work done by NAS Central as they've ported a similar chip up to 2.6.22 from the Marvell 2.6.12 source.

Draak: The case and board is quite similar to the WRT300N, so see that page for how to open it, and it has the same serial port mentioned on that page (it's near the antennas). There's also standard ARM JTAG consisting of 20 pads on the board, but I haven't tried connecting anything up to it.

TRS-80: thanks for the info the merge should not be too difficult. If you can gain access to the serial port and netboot something that will make life very easy and save me having to worry about JTAG. If you have managed to already take yours appart do you mind if I send you an image to load and test??

Saves me pulling my box apart....
