Wow finally I will be able to use it as a router instead of just a WAP.
Can't wait to install the first test DD-WRT build on it..

@BrainSlayer, I just wonder how will you deal with the 5GHZ QCA9880 card since ath10k doesn't support it. Or it doesnt matter for DD-WRT?

Hopefully we get DD-WRT supported FW for AC1750 as well.
I'm missing many of features from previous DD-WRT supported routers.

Only 8MB of flash makes the WDR7500 totally uninteresting if you ask me..

Any news? Just ordered this thing before I saw that openwrt will never support hw rev1 of the wifi AC card.

How about DD-WRT?

Well I've given up on Archer C7. Sold it and bought WDR4900 (v1.3eu) instead. More powerful PowerPC processor and double 16mb flash makes it an ideal Openwrt router. The DDWRT is extremely buggy on it (yes tried every possible build without any luck). To be very specific: The mobile broadband, WiFi and web interface are full of issues and not to mention the reset button doesn't work on ddwrt so 30/30/30 reset was not possible.

The openwrt however is rock solid with nearly double openssl performance as compared to ac7 and 24MB/sec write speed on samba on a WD USB 2.0 HDD is quite remarkable and not to mention the 5GHZ radio is well supported by ath9k driver unlike unsupported in AC7 by ath10k.

Well didn't intend to hijack this thread. I hope that the ddwrt developers release an AC7 build soon for those who are anticipating it.

Well, as Brainslayer said, be patient.

He's got one in his hands, and that is most important step.

I hope to see DDWRT support, I just hope they can get 5.0ghz AC + N support otherwise I may just keep the stock firmware. Embarassed
