The closest topic I have been able to find is http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19453, which is a five-year-old unresolved thread.

When I enable RADIUS option on a dual-band router, such as ASUS RT-AC56 or NETGEAR WNDR3700v3, the router allows any MAC and never even attempts to contact the RADIUS server. (yes, I've updated to the latest build[s] as of this posting. no, it did not resolve issue)

The option works fine on a single-band LINKSYS WRT150N.

I have searched extensively for information regarding this behavior. Based on my research, I THINK the issue has to do with dual-band. The GUI allows enabling RADIUS but does not have any per-interface attributes.

I have multiple access points, and employ both WPA2 Personal and MAC filtering. I do not wish to use Enterprise due to un/pw and/or certificate complexity, and I really like the idea of RADIUS MAC filtering as I would only have to maintain a single allow list (I have a server), rather than having to enter MACs in every allow list on every AP.

Any insight as to enabling RADIUS, even if I have to save/run CLI command[s] on a per-interface basis, would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input.
