I currently have my WRT610N v2 running on DD-WRT 14929. The build is getting a bit old and wireless stability has been dodgy - especially 5GHz.

So now I'm considering upgrading, but it's a bit of a jungle - especially having been away from the forums for a couple of years.

So which build do I go for? My preferences are wireless stability and speed. I care less about features. I see there's an option to convert the WRT610N v2 to an E3000 - and there's also something called K3.X apparently.

I've been using the latest builds for my WRT54GS-v6 (18jun2015; it had 14929 prior) and on my WNDR4000 (kernel 3.10.x branch). K3.x means linux kernel v3.x or 4.x; specific version depends on the router model. I'll probably put today's build on it tonight. ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/07-06-2015-r27490/broadcom_K3X/

If you're wary...you should peruse the release threads (' New build: DD-WRT v3.0 --- *'), especially for your model, to verify others have tried it first.

It appears you do not want to do the 30-30-30. I am assuming you're well-versed with your model's wiki page... http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT610N_v2.0
And also with the Announcements' threads!
