Are the devs following this thread, or should a bug be filed in the SVN?

Seems like this new 22700 build is exclusively dedicated towards the Buffalo routers, and the build fails on the router...

I managed to flash the latest build on a Japanese WZR-1750DHP.

1/ Downgraded the factory firmware to 2.0
2/ Flashed the factory to dd-wrt bin from 22118 build

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/07-24-2013-r22118/buffalo_wzr-1750dhp/factory-to-dd-wrt.bin

3/ flashed the 22700 bin

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/10-31-2013-r22700/buffalo_wzr-1750dhp/buffalo-wzr-1750dhp-webflash.bin

4/ 30/30/30 reset

So far seems to work without bricking...

On the Japanese firmware you can downgrade the firmware by chosing "update from internet".

Not sure how it works for the euro and us versions.

I have wzr-1750dhp korean version
I can't see 2.00 downgrade option in GUI
just 2.06 and 2.09

could you send or post "2.00 firmware"?
I'm in big trouble with range and stability of this router

i'll move that thread (wzr-900dhp) into this section of the forum, since it broadcom based anyhow.

wzr-600dhp2 is also Broadcom (BCM47081A0) based, although wzr-600dhp is Atheros (AR7161) based.
There is one post about wzr-600dhp2 that is in Atheros forum. Can you also move that post to Broadcom forum?

lmkaslash, is your unit still okay? Even after reboots? If you haven't rebooted, can you try rebooting it a few times and getting back to us? My unit always broke on reboot (not sure if this is indicative for everyone).

And if your unit really is okay, it's highly interesting that the Japanese model is okay but it seems like the others aren't. However, flashing 22118 before flashing 22700 is really scary for me, considering all of the problems that I had with 22118 and its instability.

Yes my unit is still ok after few reboots. I bricked it with the old build previously (add to give it back to buffalo to unbrick it) but so far so good with this one...

I successufully flashed WZR-1750DHP bought in Japan.

0.Make sure your router is connected to the internet before implementing this procedure.

1. Log into WZR-1750DHP using admin + password,
go to "Advanced" tab, click update firmware, click the pull-down menu, see the list of firmwares and choose 2.0.

2. Downgrade the firmware to 2.0. Reboot. Do 30/30/30

3. At. http://192.168.11.1/cgi-bin/cgi?req=frm&frm=py-db/55debug.html, type in bufpy otdpopy+password. Click telnetd

4. Telnet to 192.168.11.1 and at the command prompt #, type in ubootenv set accept_open_rt_fmt 1
reboot. WAIT A FEW MINUTES!

5.At 192.168.11.1, type in bufpy otdpopy+password, go to "Advanced" tab, click on the last link (out of four new links).

6. Flash the buffalo-wzr-1750dhp-webflash.bin dated on 10/31/2013. WAIT AT LEAST 5 MINUTES AS YOU MIGHT BRICK THE ROUTER IF YOU FAIL THIS PROCEDURE.

7. At 192.168.1.1, log in to dd-wrt!

I did not have to go though flashing the factory-to-dd-wrt.bin firmware dated on 07/24/2013.
I was able to reboot at least once without any trouble.

Are these units still running?

Also, what is the difference between the Japanese and other versions of the routers? Just software, or also hardware?

On the USA version of the router, attempting to download the firmware via router doesn't work. I think I know the page you are talking about, it has manuals, software, firmware, etc. But firmware has no entries, so we cannot get it that way.

Also, you guys mention Japanese firmware version 2.00. I believe the earliest American version is 2.03, then 2.07, 2.08 (rescinded by Buffalo because it caused many problems), and 2.09.

I tried to find an English version of 2.03 but failed; I think I found a Japanese version of 2.03, but cannot install on my router -- it's detected as an invalid firmware. I tried to "reverse bufpy" (ubootenv set region JP) but that doesn't work. I don't even know if that's a legitimate region code, however, as it was just a guess.

I downgraded my router from 2.09 to 2.07 and tried to install dd-wrt webflash.bin and factory-to-ddwrt.bin 22770 and they both failed.

So... it looks like only Japanese router owners have luck... unless someone can find an American version of 2.03 to test with.
