I'm blocked here:

"EDIT 10/5/2015
One user had an issue at this point that caused the router to revert back to the linksys firmware. Also was unable to access the webpage as it was stuck on the "Spinning Icon"
In order to fix this do the following

1 ) Download the Asus Recovery Tool: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=RT-N16&p=11&s=2&os=30&hashedid=WAa6AQFncrceRBEo "

I can not find the Asus Recovery Tool. Can somebody help me?

Can you confirm WL-330NUL version is good?
In the procedure, the ASUS model is RT-N16.
Is the recovery tool the same for the different models ?

Should I use http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/RT-AC3200/Rescue_2000.zip

Sorry for the questions but I don't want to brick my baby ...

I disconnected the router for 24hrs.

Before that it was on the Linksys Firmware without access to the webpage: Spinning icon.

Result: when restarting, I have now CFE miniWeb Server asking for a Firmware file to be uploaded.
I'm lost there.
This is not matching the procedure I had found.

Can you help guys?

If you are anyone flashed the xvortex cfe, that is normal.
Just upload the firmware from there.

See some posts back, use Asus Firmware Restoration utility.

Then use the DD-WRT Image to upload.

See Page 50, Devianttwo's post. And use the Asus Restoration Utility from an updated link below. All Utilities are for the same cfe, so it doesn't matter at least that it flashes.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/WL-330NUL/Rescue_WL_330NUL_1024.zip

That is just the Firmware Utility as a portable exe

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/RT-AC3200/Rescue_2000.zip

This Rescue_2000 is the SAME utility but as a installer, so you can locate it in your program files. I would go for the Rescue_2000 installer as it may add extra functionality and is newer than the other one, so it will support more Asus models and increase compatibility of our cfe.

And a side note, when you do get DD-Wrt Installed, the SSH username is root and not the username you have on the web interface. The password is however, the same one on the web interface.

Thanks for explanations.

I used Rescue_2000 with a lot of expectations Smile
I used r28374 version of the .bin
He mentionned that operation was successful (Which was looking good) Very Happy

It is now since hours probably busy doing things.
Ping OK : always working (Doesn't seem to reboot)
Green led on for about 10 seconds then out for about 45 seconds then ... again.
Since hours now.
When going to http://192.168.1.1 : CFE miniweb Server is visible. Sad

No clue what to do next. Rolling Eyes

Your help is welcome as you can imagine. Question

Thanks in advance

Try using the cfe mini webserver to upload the firmware.

Kernel: Linux 3.10.93 #5021 SMP Mon Nov 30 09:10:58 CET 2015 armv7|
Status: Working
Reset: No
Errors:
- SSH Management can not be enabled
- Temperatures extremely high: CPU 108°C / WL0 50°C / WL1 57°C. Is the temperature of CPU not displayed in Fahrenheit (108°F = 44°C) ?
- Translation mistakes in French

Do I need to do Something for températures?

SSH Management can not be enabled

-> This is a problem with the current build and will be fixed in the next one. I've enabled it in a previous build, and updated and staying on r28366 where it is working for me at-least.

Temperatures

The temperatures are high for everyone running dd-wrt on this router Sad , I have my temperature at 73 degrees °C. My batch of the router was an ea6300v1uk model which was a refurbished model at a uk retailer. Mine has probably been repaired from warranty which is why the router was cheap at the time.

If you read a few pages back, some models are effected by a rubbish heatsink. Some people reapplied paste I think? Just re-read the pages

Translations

Uh I think there is somewhere you can help contribute to translations by contacting a dev Very Happy

You can actually modify the language file yourself with the additional changes. I'm not sure where it is saved, but it should be somewhere Rolling Eyes

IP Reservations

I haven't tried this yet, but, I was going to try this as one of my devices just keeps on timing out over Wi-Fi with an Intel AC Wlan, the other laptops with Broadcom don't do this for some reason.

I just assigned my laptop an Static IP in the DHCP, in the services tab and it assigned it to my laptop. Not sure, have you specified the correct mac?

In the future, when you do install any firmware over, it will take a while for the values and variables and whatever the bootloader does to populate. On my first setup of DD-Wrt with the cfe, I thought I bricked it, but 15 minutes later it booted.

On a side note, new dd-wrt version has been "cooked" today...

r28397's changelog fixes SSH

Some more details:

Firmware version : DD-WRT V3.0-r27700 std
Load average : 0.12 / 0.07 / 0.03
CPU temperature : CPU 66,4°C / WL0 34,91°C / WL1 41,41°C

Few minutes later

Firmware version : DD-WRT V3.0-r28397 std
Load average : 0.03 / 0.07 / 0.09
CPU temperature : CPU 107,5°C / WL0 50,59°C / WL1 56,76°C

I don't think the problem is related to rubbish heatsink problem

What are my options?
How can I help to find a solution to this problem?
Am I the only one to have such huge temperatures?
Is this problem not specific to dual core models?

I can not let this situation unchanged.
My CPU will quickly die if I let it run.
