could I upgrade my wndr4500 with
dd-wrt.v24-21605_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin
or do I need a special ...wndr4500... file first ?
Here you see a pritnscreen from the dd-wrt mod

I use dd-wrt.v24-21605_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin for RT-n16, but not working.

as prerequirement it would be good if a K26 is already installed so i dont need to post many special images here for all the factory firmware format types.

I can test with a wndr4000 and a wndr4500 . Are both supported ?

in theory all K26 devices are supported but not tested
the reason for this test is not to test already tested devices. we are interested in results on other k26 supported routers
no special file needed. try if, you can unbrick. otherwise leave.
I tried:
dd-wrt.v24-21605_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin with my wndr4500. Messages:
* firmware accepted *
* restarting *
but router starts with the exisiting dd-wrt mod firmware.
Any better ideas ? Still willing to test or to deliver additional informations...

BS: why are that files half that big, postet in RT-N66U Thread ? big and mega differ about 9 mb ?
thats the difference between big and mega. i just included everything possible in big but it will work only on 32mb flash devices. and here i place a version which should run on more than just 3 devices _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? After rereading the first post.
Really nice you found a way to make 64k nvram available to all routers.
Is there a safety build in for overclocking to prevent selecting a value which potentially could brick a unit?
The E3200 runs fine on 662 but will all?
You have updated the max available ports on broadcom to 65536
Settings is accepted when set, small remark GUI still shows 256 - 4096 as option.
Link indication status on the vlan page also a nice new feature working fine.
Regarding the overclocking, it read the post about the cfe.
Seems linksys does accept higher values.
I have different options on the E2000 smaller steps and max 533.
Did not try if accepts 533

dangerous to switch to another firmware later on, as they need to add new code for firmware upgrade checking that may work for them and current builds, but not necessarily for new dd-wrt builds, which finally can corrupt your router when flashing
In your case the upgrade routine thinks it is not a valid image and does not flash it. As for the WNDR4500 and R6300 wait until I post my results patches etc.
I'm almost sure that the current builds will not work. I had to use netgears trx and lzma bins to produce a build that bootloader could load.
