Hi guys,

tried to flash my ASUS RT-N12 (B1) with "dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N12B1.trx" Firmware, by using update Firmware on the original Firmware on the update section.

Unfortunately it did not restart as it should. Now I have flashing the LEDs, but no access anymore to the router. My computer is a MacBook, so the utilities on the disk do not work.

Any ideas how to get the DD-WRT firmware on the router or at least get the original firmware back on and start from scratch ?

Thanks a lot

thanks for the help, however I am on a MAC not Windows ping -t results in the following message

-MacBook:~ Scheppi$ ping -t 192.168.10.1
usage: ping [-AaDdfnoQqRrv] [-b boundif] [-c count] [-G sweepmaxsize] [-g sweepminsize]
[-h sweepincrsize] [-i wait] [-l preload] [-M mask | time] [-m ttl]
[-p pattern] [-S src_addr] [-s packetsize] [-t timeout]
[-W waittime] [-z tos] host
ping [-AaDdfLnoQqRrv] [-c count] [-I iface] [-i wait] [-l preload]
[-M mask | time] [-m ttl] [-p pattern] [-S src_addr]
[-s packetsize] [-T ttl] [-t timeout] [-W waittime]
[-z tos] mcast-group

I am sorry, but I am a newbie to this. Tried to get DD WRT on my router, using the flash file in the Router DATABASE.

ok, this is how far I got not. After I could ping my router, used TFTP client for MAC to transfer dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N12B1.trx to the router.

However it does not restart and ping still gives same reply the posted before

Put stock firmware back on it. You need to do the transfer during the ttl=100n responses.

Murrkf, thanks man, all it needed was pointing me in the right direction.
Revived the router and got access again to it, with the ASUS setup screen.

Now more important, how do I get DD WRT on the router and what is the correct version, as it seems the one from the DATABASE page was not the correct one.

Again thanks for pointing me in the right directions !

When flashing a router, always follow the steps in the wiki.
