Is it possible, with ~$50 routers and ddwrt, to make a mesh network where if you had a skype call open and you walked around, you could keep the call open as you reconnected to closer nodes?

I have a setup in my house with 2 routers hooked via lan port with same ssid. It looks nice but when I walk from one end to the other, i lose connection for a split second when I get out of range and reconnect. Is the only solution to buy enterprise-type hardware?

Yes, I know, I've been testing with my current setup. What I want to know is if it's possible to use DDWRT to delegate client hand-offs while roaming from one area to another? Is there a special hardware requirement for this capability? I wonder why this capability isn't built into DDWRT.
