Has anyone been able to successfully enable the JFFS filesystem on the WNDR4300?

I have the WNDR4300V1 rounter and followed these steps to enable JFFS.
https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Journalling_Flash_File_System

After rebooting the router JFFS2 is listed as having 17.25MB of space, but completely full using 17.25MB.

I ssh'ed into the router and the /jffs directory is present but running mount does not show the filesystem in the mount list (not sure if it should be there or not). The /jffs directory is un-writtable.

The WNDR4300 has 128MB of flash, it should have more than enough space for the JFFS filesystem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi to all!
Are there any Netgear WNDR4300 hardware revisions not supported by dd-wrt?
I'm going buy 4300 but hardware revision is not specified at seller's site.

Thanks for quick answer!
But I'm a bit confused: router database reports that the only one supported hardware revision is WNDR4300 v4 (dd-wrt v24 PreSP2 Build 21061).

I guess WNDR4300 hardware revision if I buy this router now will most likely be v2.
Ok, it means I need to find something else ...
Thanks again. Smile

Will someone post in this thread when v2 is supported? Or is the best way to just check the FTP site periodically?

What recent build are most people using these days? I'm on 29621 and am having problems getting it to honor a static leases, so I'm thinking updating to something with a newer DNSMasq might be a good idea.

What's relatively stable?

Hello, there. I am pretty new here, but not new to DD-WRT. Been running it on Linksys E600 for years and am very happy with it. Alas that router has become unbearably slow and I think it is dying. I decided to buy something a bit more modern. So I read about the Netgear WNDR4300 and my local big box store had it in stock, so I went for it. Turns out it's v2, which does not appear to be supported. I am running the router now with stock firmware and it's giving me much better performance than the old Linksys. I am wondering if and when this version of the WNDR4300 will be supported by DD-WRT. Can I try to flash it with the latest firmare in the FTP directory?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

BrainSlayer, you are an artist.
Thank you.

Hey I was able to flash both files WNDR4300 v4 Firmware (shows in my control panel as DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std - build 21061) which are on my Netgear WNDR4300 v4 router. The thing is, I am trying to get the vpn IPVanish set up IPVanish on there. Which settings do I use? PPTP or the OpenVPN? It stated in IPVanish it has to be at least v3 but there's none in that version for IPVanish, but there's an VPN section there which not sure how to configure it. I am so lost. Please help someone. Thanks.

So you mean to tell me, I flashed my netgear wndr4300 router to the files on that page where the previous guy said? So now I have to update the firmware provided in the red link to get the v3 firmware? I went there and looks like the same firmware I upgraded to when I flashed my router.

Ok I was able to reflash my netgear 4300 router with the latest firmware and I see it says v3 and with the newest date as of 7/8/17. Now I can configure my vpn settings. Very Happy
