Will http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/MI424WR work on the MI424WR-GEN3I (rev I, I think)?

I don't have FiOS-TV and nor do I plan to get it so I don't care for the MOCA bridge capabilities of the router.

I just have a WAN ethernet cable coming from the ONT into the router.

Thanks!

(The only other router I have is a WRT54GS with the 4/9 DD-WRT build but it doesn't have gigabit lan so...)

No, but OpenWRT should eventually support it(there are mostly working test builds) but I don't think support has been merged into mainline yet.

I'm on the FTP site for OpenWRT but I'm not sure of which chip the Actiontec uses.

Would you be able to point me to the test builds for Rev I?

Thanks in advance.

They aren't integrated into mainline yet AFAIK so they wouldn't be there quite yet.

it's been a couple more years since last reply to this thread (came up top search result in google search so sorry if there is a newer thread on this subject).

I too have a MI424WR Rev I... but looks like only support for older MI424WR (up to Rev D).

Would I brick my router if I tried to webupdate using the Rev D dd-wrt on a Rev I?

I have exactly the same question. I would guess so considering the CPU seems to be from a different manufacturer... Does anybody know?

Any way to get DD-WRT running on this router? I think most people using this router in 2018 don't care about the coax port so hardware support isn't a big issue.

Update: Looks like OpenWRT is working on it... https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git&a=search&h=HEAD&st=commit&s=kirkwood:
