The setup
Primary router: WRT160Nv3, stock firmware.
Quote:
Netowrok mode : mixed
channel width 20
channel 11
WPA2 personal
TPK or AES

Client Atheros Tl-WR740N (AR9331@400)

Firmware: v24-sp2 31/12/12

The problem
I bought the client especially to use it as wireless bridge. Flashed without any problem. I access the router withot any problem before setting up wireless bridge.
After I setup the client as I wireless bridge, I cannot connect to it via cable. Every one of the PCs I tried is stuck in endless "trying to connect" mode. The client router is not accessible neither via the old IP(192.168.1.1), nor via the new one(192.168.1.6).
Both PCs I tried are with Ubuntu 12.04.
Any ideas what might be going wrong, am I missing something?
According to the tutorial in SR1 wireless bridge is not working. What about SR2?
The files I used for my new firmware:

If I get it right, I have not picked up the right hardware for client bridge and my options are WDS#Atheros and Client setup.
Since WDS requres both devices to have the same chipset, I should go for Client or buy a new primary router, right?
Thank you for your help Smile

I tried setting uo the client router to Client mode(NO bridge)
The configuration goes as planned, but the router does not connect to the primary router. Or, for a reason, the client computer(cable connected to the client router) does not have internet access.
