A little while back i read an article on intel's site regarding usb 3.0 interference with 2.4Ghz devices, so i decided to share this article just for good reference:
if you would just link to the PDF i can scroll that would be great

almost said i am too lazy to read this when i found the pdf link
looks like as long as i am not using a usb3 device i should be fine for the most part, i have to only have 1 piece of usb3 hardware and that is my laptop _________________ Router: Buffalo WZR-300HP w/ DD-WRT build #28444
Wait... so if I plug a USB 3.0 memory stick into my computer & my router is literally 3 inches away from the usb 3.0 port.... i could be getting serious interference? Or is this one of those 'barely noticeable' issues....

Yes, maybe it can but it doesn't have generally. It might depend on the connected device and the device which provides the USB-port. I think this problem is really critically, because more and more wifi-routers are equipped with USB 3.0 ports for using as NAS and so on.

I can indeed confirm that there can exist a serious interference between USB3 and 2.4GHz wireless. I own a laptop with internel USB2-only ports, but it also has a StarTech USB3 expresscard that's connecting to a USB3 hub with various devices, including hard drives. For a while I have been wondering how come I am observing a massive difference in downloads over wireless-n 2.4GHz. Uploads could run as fast as 9MB/second, while downloads could run at 6MB/second, and sometimes bog down to 3MB/second. Everything went to normal after unplugging the express card. Once I observed this issue, I decided to keep using USB3 and switch to 5GHz band. That meant buying a new AC router. (My old WDR3600 had a really lousy 5GHz signal and reception).

i just got a usb3 stick to add to my dd-wrt router, so i'm glad i noticed this thread. what i may do is simply put the stick on a M:F 3' usb3 extension shieldedcord to make it more distant from the 2.4 sticks. we could just wrap the usb3 stick in tin foil, but they can get hot so it's best to not potentially insulate them.
