Is there a way to fix the size of the firmware for the RT-N13U? It seems all the new releases are too big and are causing the upgrade to fail.

There is RT-N13U and RT-N13U B1.
More info in the Wiki.

I have the RT-N13U which is not the B1 version. I downloaded the correct one, if you look at the size of the roms for the RT-N13U they are bigger than the ones built in 2011. They are too big to flash. I am asking how to fix the size of the rom.

Could you specify the issue that you are facing with the upgrade process?

Is nothing that us, the average Joe, can solve. It is needed to trim the code and re-compile it.

So if you guys really want to help, post the build number(s) that you are trying to load, to see if somebody can suggest a smaller one.

Post the build number, not the build date (and write the file size). It is easier to search them by number.

The upgrade is failing because the build is too large. 07-20-12-r19519

anyone know a solution to this problem?

I'm trying to put the router in a Client Bridge Mode (currently using build 12/20/11) and it won't work so I'm trying to upgrade the firmware which also won't work.

stuck!

Ralink based routers (like the RT-N13U and the B1) don't support client bridge. You have to do Repeater bridge instead.

18024 is the latest one that works. I guess that's the end of the line unless the build shrinks.

I was on 16994... I tried to upgrade to the latest rev 19519 - no dice... the latest rev I could upgrade to is 18024.

I'm on a RT-N13U (non B1 version)...

Are those of us with Version 1 unit's just out of luck?

For the record:
BS 18024 (Asus-RTN13U-webflash) = 3,735,580 Bytes.
