How do I find out what kernel version DD-WRT is using? (what command?) I'm assuming newer versions will use newer versions of the kernel and

This has folders going to the respective kernel versions, and I have no idea which one to choose for RC7-9419.. _________________ WRT54GL 1.1 v24 preSP2 r14896 | RNX-GX4 v24 preSP2 r14929 | 2x AR430W v24 (both bricked ATM) | 2x F*n2100 Legend Pre4.5U & v24 preSP2 r13525
I tried flashing with Legend pre-4.5 stable and it appears to work.. I can see and connect to the Legend AP, but it will never assign me an IP, and even through ethernet I can't ping/access it at 192.168.1.1.
I can however ping the router through another router using telnet. But even then, after about a minute the pinging will fail again until I reboot the Fonera with Legend.
I tried flashing the Fonera again with Legend and now I can access it at 192.168.1.1, but it errors:
Quote:
Could not open file.
awx: /www/cgi-bin/webif/info.awx:73: Call to undefined function
Its ability to be pinged and accessed dies quickly (again) though, and connecting to its Legend AP still doesn't get me an IP address. There is no new activity in the serial console between the time of first ping and when that dies.
What is this, what do I do? _________________ WRT54GL 1.1 v24 preSP2 r14896 | RNX-GX4 v24 preSP2 r14929 | 2x AR430W v24 (both bricked ATM) | 2x F*n2100 Legend Pre4.5U & v24 preSP2 r13525

Thanks, that fixed it.
The router appears to be crashing though. First symptom is that it stops responding to pings, but SSH and the webif still respond. Then after maybe 2+ minutes, everything stops responding except serial. The only things I did were flashing the firmware, reinstalling webif, and setting a password.
It is getting annoying, I'll try flashing my other F*n and see how it behaves, but whats going on? :(
Not sure about the crashing. My airodump refuses to capture packets on chn1 after a while. I select chn1, but it does chn6 instead. What's the point of that when I want chn1?
btw, webif is ok for me. I've the AP turned off, and the legend fonera connected to my main router through ethernet. _________________ RT-AC66U (asuswrt-merlin 374.43 LTS V44EA)

Is there some relation with the Static IP you set for the wlan in the webif and the router's IP through the LAN? I got this notion before when I changed the lan IP only, and could only access the router at the original 192.168.1.1 still. I turned off the radio and now the router never responds to pings. _________________ WRT54GL 1.1 v24 preSP2 r14896 | RNX-GX4 v24 preSP2 r14929 | 2x AR430W v24 (both bricked ATM) | 2x F*n2100 Legend Pre4.5U & v24 preSP2 r13525

Hi to all... after reading all of the 16 pages, i've tryed to mod my f*n 2200 with an 256mb sd card.
I've already tryed all of the wires and points that you all mentioned, and finaly i have only connected sd pin 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
I'm connected with serial cable to see all the logs, and mmc never appears on /dev
if i try to install (26215-fon2200Driver14_762.ipk) i get system halted.
What am i doing wrong? how do i activate the driver on your pre-4.5 release from 22/03/2008 ??
These are the last lines received from the serial console:
Code:
wifi0: mac 11.0 phy 4.8 radio 7.0
wifi0: Use hw queue 1 for WME_AC_BE traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 0 for WME_AC_BK traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 2 for WME_AC_VI traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 3 for WME_AC_VO traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 8 for CAB traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 9 for beacons
wifi0: Atheros 2315 WiSoC: mem=0xb0000000, irq=3
mmc : 3-Pin Fon2200 Driver Built for Legend (john@phrozen.org)
The system is going down NOW !!
Sending SIGTERM to all processes.
Requesting system halt.
System halted.
Before flashing back, I would like to understand the error, if any. Thanks
You must be using the older trunk firmware (which I KNOW has this problem). The stable version I put on the site a while ago doesn't do this. I also had a different firmware for the 2200 (older kernel) to avoid this problem. Since you will be upgrading your firmware, you should contact hard_where (DD-WRT user) for the latest Legend. He is continuing the project in my place. Thank you.
By the way, that user you speak of didn't have all of the necessary SD pins connected, he had a very different problem. _________________ BNP.org.uk
[3] The SD was wired according to this schema:
SD pin 1 <-> GND
SD pin 2 <-> Bottom of power led resistor
SD pin 3 <-> GND
SD pin 4 <-> +3.3V (upper left corner of reset button)
SD pin 5 <-> Upper right corner of reset button
SD pin 6 <-> GND
SD pin 7 <-> Bottom of wifi led resistor
Everything seemed ok at this point, except no mmc driver.
Hmm. Maybe theres a small detail that's not being exchanged between the two of us. I can tell you for a fact that the Openwrt repository has acquired a newer MMC driver that shouldn't have any of the problems listed here ( it will probably have new ones). Again, all those who might be interested, speak with hard_where. _________________ BNP.org.uk
