Performance-wise my buffalo is pretty solid with stock firmware. Is there any performance advantage to flashing to dd-wrt. also, a lot of the functions of DD-WRT are foreign to me and I dont know if they'd actually help me attain a better grasp of my network. Any Buffalo users out there that can help convince a novice like me?

there are many new things like wds wpa encryption, client mode etc.
note that buffalo itself is using dd-wrt at demonstration installations here in germany. and finally the gui looks much better _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

If you read this contest, I am pretty sure you will agree to jump-start your WHR-G54S router with DD-WRT.
