Edit:
Barryware was right I was attached to serial 2 and not 1, once I re soldered the pins to tty1 she started yelling nice and loud... Here is the info in all her glory!!!..

get yourself some "Chip Quik". It is low temp solder & special flux. I use it all the time for removing flash chips (and cleaning out header holes)
you flux and add the low temp solder to the filled holes.. mix it a bit with your soldering pen, then suck it out with solder wick.
it might take two tries.. Remember to clean the flux off with alcohol in between if needed. Don't let the flux get black & crusty.
a few minutes later... perfectly cleaned header holes with no damage to the pcb.
The ground hole is a bitch.. I use a 20 watt soldering pen for just about everything except the ground holes. I bust out the 40 watt'er for those. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
I think I have it correct however still unable to get legabile output... I either get what looks like blank scrolling txt accross the screen or ascii characters spewing out. so if you look at the picture, does this have 2 serial ports? I used the bottom 5 pin header.. Maybe the top?
Facing tords the lan ports I used the bottom set of holes.
oh.. I misunderstood your post. I thought you were having trouble cleaning out the header holes.
I mistakenly connected to the wrong serial port on a 2500. I still got legible output (it is some type of USB loader)
don't know what to say if you are getting garbage.. play with the baud rate possibly.
linksys has made it clear they do not want us messing with their units (disable jtag, strip out serial (cfe) commands needed, etc.)
it would not surprise me if they have changed things on this router to make it "not so easy" to dump data.
try the other header.
I think your right, after chatting with ascott, I believe I serial'd TTY2 or the 2nd serial port that is why I am getting mixed results... I should have done the one closest to the CPU... Tonight she goes under the knife again and this time I am getting the solder stuff from radio shack that you recommended.
Will be done a porting of dd-wrt for this router or is planned in a "near" future?
Look at the postings and come to the conclusion "they are on it but its done when its done ... maybe". Some manufacturers do not want to have their devices modified and lay stones in the way to success.
Would most definitely like to see this device being supported. I linked back to this thread in my own to keep information together.
I really wish there was at least a hint of development or any idea on what we are waiting for.. I think from watching other device threads that we are waiting on 'broadcom 3.0 drivers' but other than that I'm in the dark..
which is an interesting move since Droidify are saying they will have support for this router in particular.. but I want DD-WRT dammit >.< I really need a powerful firewall/iptables to stop my brother's friends' DDOS attacks.
