Hi,

I have noticed a speed difference between Eko and Brainslayer build's.

With Brainslayer build:
SVN revision 15778
File: dd-wrt.v24-15778_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega.bin
Download: 2403.1kB/s
Upload: 481.9kB/s

With Eko build:
SVN revision 15508M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko
File: dd-wrt.v24-15508_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega.bin
Download: 3517.3kB/s
Upload: 472.5kB/s

(Don't now why speedtest report server located at 100km and than the day after at 150km it's the same server)

I have run both on my RT-N16. Get same throughput with either load. Did you run multiple times? Speeds will vary quite a bit. --bill

Yep, same here, i get a little better speeds/signal with eko's builds, but he has seemed to "stall" on releasing any newer ones (maybe no worth while changes for broadcom so not worth compiling any newer bin's... who knows), and for the most part, i like to stay current, for testing, but 1 of my WRT320N's i have kept on 15508 because it seems to be a solid build for me.

The RT-N16 can handle ~100mbps routing, it shouldn't be having any problems with a mere 30mbps connection. Make sure you hard reset and use the same minimal settings between tests.

I get approximately the same speeds using either Eko's or Brainslayer's builds.

I prefer Eko's when using a router with 4MB Flash - the std-nokaid-nohotspot-nostor.

With 8MB or more flash, I use Either Eko's or Brainslayer's Mega or Big - whichever is newer.

I've noticed in all of brainslayers directories of release files, there is every type of ASUS RT- product listed except for N16! ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/V24-K26/svn18946/

but I see all kinda people saying they use it on their N16...
so which are you supposed to use? LoL

dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin

Any of these that ONLY say NEWD-2_K2.6

Do not flash the nv60k / nv64k versions on the RT-N16

thanks for the heads up!
so if im looking for a mini build, i can literally use any .bin file on the list as long as it says NEWD-2_K2.6, it doesn't need to specifically say RT-N16 on the file name?

Right

Either of these would work from the latest Eko:

04/07/2012 12:00AM 3,502,080 dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin

04/07/2012 12:00AM 3,506,176 dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N16.trx

or you can try the Brainslayer builds in here:

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/07-20-12-r19519/broadcom_K26/

07/20/2012 12:23PM 3,559,424 dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin

like that one.

Awesome thanks for the help!
One more question...is it normal for mini builds to not support https login to the GUI? Any other major benefits the mega/big builds provide to a power user, outside of the additional wifi-hotspot type plugins IYO?

I always flash the Mega or Big builds.

If you're not enabling the options, it won't affect the cpu much at all.

I'd rather not need it and have it, then need it and not have it.
