Hello, we need to get that router supported. It has enough RAM, Flash and not bad CPU.

Hello, everybody wants it supported but only one donated. And I closed the donation and refunded the money instead of using it to buy router and send to developers.

So ? someone send a copy of v8 to the devs?

Btw: OpenWRT runs smooth on v8.0.

I am a n00b and very beginner at this stuff, but my problem is this way. I recently bought a TP-Link TL-WR841N, hardware version WR841N v8 00000000.

I connect to my ISP via PPPoE/Russia PPPoE, and I see after 2 days of testing that the download speed with the router on LAN is way lower than the cable connected directly. To exemplify:

with router: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2327679281.png

without router: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2327693031.png

I tried everything, resetting, updating (there is only one update available). My metropolitan speed usually on cable is 10 MB/sec, with the router is about 1MB/sec.
What can I do, custom firmware or something, I would like to do something, but I'm a big beginner.
And also, I have the option to take it back to the store.
Thanks in advance.

@kaaposc , i've followed the instructions and emailed them ar hardwaredonation@dd-wrt.com but there's no reply. anyone who can help get them to reply me so i can ship out a few affected TP-Link router (WR841ND & WR1043ND) to them and make it supported on dd-wrt.

Thanks!

Of course YES. Flash it from OpenWrt and you will see.

Sorry, I am a noob. Do I need to install OpenWRT in order to THEN install DD-WRT (v7)?

If there is a way I can make this work on v8 that would be great, otherwise I'll happily pay $25 so that a v8 version can be purchased.

It would be great to get the TL-WR841N v8 on the supported list.

Well up for donating myself as its a well priced router..

I would not dare to try it myself.

I have a v8.0 and confirm the OpenWRT firmware boots nicely. I do not know what use there is for that confirmation on this forum.

I too would jump happily to donate. I spend more on video games than the 25 you were trying to rise. I just hadn't have the need before!

*Thanks* to HAZArD I've upgraded to OpenWRT, thinking is the beautiful interface DD-WRT, not something fugly like OpenWRT.

Can someone tell me if the version for the 7.0 firmware works on TL-WR841ND v8.1 build and how can I upgrade to it without bricking my brand new router, I understand that SSH is involved, I've seen something similar for other router.

Can you guys help me, I hate OpenWRT. Just so you know it works perfectly but it's unrefined and all the training I did on the demo of DD-WRT is not helping me me a bit.

I have WR841N v8 with a3s56d40ftp memory which has 32MB, can I write DD-WRT for v7 to this router?

If isn't possible to write DD-WRT through web interface, how can I write software with SPI programmer?
