Hey

Im well aware that the TP-Link WR-1043ND has its own thread but there is a bug that is in the firmware for months almost.

It has to do with wifi. Lets see if we can track this down as its been like this for builds and builds.

Im on NG-Mixed WPA2 Personal TKIP+AES Dynamic Channel 6 lower

what bug? dont use TKIP with WPA2.

i'm using: (300mbit/s)

- latest build 18777 on TPLink 1043 v. 1.8
- WPA2 personal
- AES

- NG Mixed mode
- Turbo (40Mhz)
- fixed wireless channel 11
- lower extension
- TX gains : 1+2+3
- RX gains : 1+2+3
- Tx power: 20dBm
- Regulatory Domain: United States

I too suffer frequently from wireless bugs.
My SSID frequently dissappears from my notebook, so i get disconnected. Only option then is to repower the router to get wifi working again.

I tried almost every possible setup and this bug keeps reappearing.

Setting the channel to "auto" is defintely bad. Setting a manual channel is better.
On my wifi status page i also keep getting incrementing RX errors RX: 1000 / 30 bad

With previous 17xxx firmware this wasn't the case.

What about the TX and RX gains: i leave it to default 1+2+3, anyone with better suggestions ?

Another issue, why does wifi gets disconnected and the reconnected if I reconnect the WAN side (reconnect in status screen to get a new internet WAN ip adress)

Its a 'known' 18xxx-bug that is hopefully repaired in the build to come.
In this whole series the wifi is not really stable.

So i don't need to flash then to the latest version since the wifi drop outs are still there Sad

When will this great unit get a descent dd-wrt firmware ?
The hardware is great (even running stock firmware), but without a stable fast dd-wrt firmware, we better go and buy and old WRT54G linux router.

It looks like bugs can't be solved on the atheros chipset.

By "seems stable" after how long? I've only noticed it slow down to a crawl after a few hours of traffic / activity.

Incredible...
I set TX Power to 18 dBm (default is 20 dBm) and now wireless is perfect from 2 days Shocked

TL-WR1043ND v 1.8
DD-WRT (06/08/12) std SVN revision 19342

Is possibile that the problem is only a high tx power?
