This worked for me too, Thanks! I've got it running 27775 from this morning with no issues yet.

I just bought a Linksys ea2700 so I can upgrade my 100MBps network to 1000Mbps. I used the version 27775 because erilidon said it worked in no issues.
My question is, since everyone is complaining about port speeds (I haven't tested it yet) which is the most stable and with the best speed?
Anyone knows?

I used to have DDWRT on my Ea2700 to use it as a repeater but it reset and I didn't bother reinstalling it.

Yesterday I decided to put it back on but I can't. I've tried every way possible. Flashed Classic, 303030 reset, Flashed classic again, did 3030 again. Attempted to install ddwrt. Light flashes and reboots a few time's. I log back in tk he routers page and it's still on linksys. What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same problem
1. I reverted my EA2700 to classic firmware
2. did the 30-30-30 reset
3. Update with DD-WRT firm ware
4. Router reboot
5. login, back to Linksys classic

I have repeated this several time and not able to get dd-wrt welcome screen.

There are some entries in the foum talking about clearing the nvram. Is that something we have to do ?

I tried to flash version 28139 and it didn't work regardless of which steps I followed. Then I decided to try 27775 and it worked the first time.

I flashed firmware 27775. After some tweaking, Ethernet ports stopped working (might be the known issue related to Gigabit, but I didn't take time to follow this up). So I made a soft reset and ports are working fine now.

Now I setup DD-WRT as OpenVPN client but nothing happens, not even from the terminal. Does anyone knows a firmware version in which OpenVPN works as client?

Thanks.

What are your terminal settings? What cable are you using? Only gnd, tx and rx are connected right?

Using Baud: 115200 Data bits: 8 Stop Bits: 1 Parity: none No Flow control .
Cable is composed of 3 wires(gnd,tx,rx) and a serial end.
Tried conencting directly with pc serial and with usb-to-serial adaptor.

Have you guys tried out any newer builds? Any luck?
My 27775 is having poor wifi performance and I was thinking of trying out another build.

I am currently using build 29218. It seems fine to me so far. I only use the EA2700 as a Client Bridge though. Don't expect great performance from this router though. The downside of this router and dd-wrt is no 5GHz and poor range (due to internal antennas, not dd-wrt).

I've installed 29085 on it and it seems to be ok for the last 8 days.
I've even modded it and replaced the internal antennas for 2.4 ghz with external ones, but the signal is still weak because it doesn't have any amplifiers, unfortunately.
Still, I believe it's better than my old WRT610N/E3000, for now.

Thanks for the feedback! Smile

What is the most current confidently functional release, and where can I get it?

I always see mention of newer releases but don't know where to go to find them.

Using dd-wrt-25628-ea2700 on my ea2700.
(Could only get to take via cloud firmware)

You can find the latest firmware here: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/

Go into a release folder and find Linksys ea2700. Upload the file. If you are coming from a much older release like pre-20000 it would be good to do a 30-30-30 hard reset.

I am currently using 29218, but I would not recommend that build in particular because it just about bricked one of my other routers.
