I’ve been using this router for almost two years now. First year and a half I‘ve used dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn_small-nv64k.bin, following Strong VPN recommendation. Very stable and reliable (thanks Eko) for OpenVPN and PPTP as well.
Trying to solve a Voip blockage issue with my current VPN provider (PIA), I’ve recently upgraded to dd-wrt.v24-20979_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin. Again, stable and reliable (thank you Fractal) for OpenVPN, although could not make PPTP to work, at least with PIA (and VOIP blockage was not solved by the way).
I am basically using it as a VPN (behind main one) to connect my Voip ATA (as my local ISP blocks Voip).
Router itself is rock solid and can stay connected for weeks, unless there is any issue on the VPN provider side.

After updating the firm ware to the latest version (1.0.05) I wasn't able to connect to vpn any more, I contacted the HMA team, and they told me that this version is bugged and I have to downgrade to 1.0.04, but on the linksys website, its not available any more, any help?!!

I see it's now up to dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin for this router - anyone having any issues with OpenVPN on this build? Looking to replace my ageing WRT54GL and this seems a pretty good value-for-money replacement if OpenVPN works OK on it Smile

Ah OK - I did have a look at the latest build folder (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/12-22-2014-r25697/) but couldn't see any listing for the E900 - where can I find a newer version? Thanks Smile

Eek sorry - just realised I was looking in the wrong place, once I've put the device-specific E900 version on I can then flash with the much more up-to-date http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2014/12-22-2014-r25697/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-25697_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv64k.bin Thanks again for highlighting what a numpty I was being! Very Happy

So, to start afresh - anyone aware of any major issues (esp with OpenVPN) on this 25697 build? Or any recommended earlier versions to go with instead? Planning to use with EarthVPN FWIW.

Im using this kind of router with dd-wrt framework.

I tested this link yesterday and did some configuration.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Multiple_WLANs

I make a guest WiFi it was successful.I have two WiFi one for personal and one for the guest.

The problem is that whenever I create a password for the guest WiFi(virtual), the connection was lost. phones can't browse any website anymore whenever I put a password on it.I already tried WPA,WPA2 etc.

I already followed the steps that is written in Multiple WLAN's instruction.

Anymore can help me with it?

Hi,
I am new to DD-WRT and have some questions about the Linksys N900 router.

I have installed the firmware "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/22/14) big
(SVN revision 25697)".

1. Is this the latest stable version for this router?

2. Are there some security concerns with that version (hearthbleed, etc...)?

3. Where do i find short news regarding the security of dd-wrt firmware?

4. Is there a way to find the newest image-files? (The download ftp is confusing and most files are uploaded at year 2008 <(?.?)> )

Thanks Very Happy

Hello.

I have a Linksys E900 with the build 27858 since last week. I am having some wifi "client disconnects/drops" and would like to upgrade/downgrade to the most stable version.

I checked the wiki (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E900) for this model and it says to use the version 26653: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/04-09-2015-r26653/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-26653_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv64k.bin

Also some people advice to use the 21061: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2013/03-25-2013-r21061/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv64k.bin

Finally I have read that: if you're looking for stability use build 18946. It will work great! Lowering the TX Power is beneficial too.
http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24-K26/svn18946/dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv64k.bin

So:
Wiki: 26653
Forum1: 21061
Forum2: 18946
All using big version.

My questions:
- Is advised to use big instead of mega build?
- Which is the DD-WRT firmware I should use? 26653 as wiki says?

Thank you very much!

Hi guys. Why is this topic still titled no builds yet?

Just want to show my mods. I added two antennas and heatsink. I'm using 21061 K2.6 mega with 128mW of TX power.

Will we get CPU overclocking?

Hi
I managed to brick mine. wanted to do a serial port recovery.
Cant find details of the serial port pinout. I got a rs232 to ttl converter. and i see a 5 pin header in the top right corner, near to where the antenna cable is. Any help with recovering, such as which version to use when doing the cfe recovery, etc would be helpful.

i tried doing the tftp upload, which seems to transfer the file, but router doesnt seem to do anything afterwards. i tried a number of different firmwares via tftp such as the stock linksys, the truncated version recommended for initial flashing of this router, and the one to use after the initial flash. same behavior for all of them via tftp. nothing happens after the file transfer even after a couple of hours.
