I'm in the same situation, bought the 3500lv2 after successfully using the Kong mod over at myopenrouter.com with 3500lv1 for a couple of years now.

Can we start a fund or something, or maybe reward money? I'm getting desperate too. The router is completely useless right now without proper DD-WRT support.

I've tried the Support Release over at myopenrouter.com and successfully installed it but it seems that there is a problem about running commands. Nothing happens when I try to run commands so I had to install Tomato while waiting for a proper DD-WRT build.

How do we get this on track ???

OK,

We have offers of routers, beer, pizza and cash.

Still no answer from the powers that be. I wonder what motivates them? or...do they just have "lives" like the rest of us should have Confused

Has anyone been able to build from a more recent source with extras like OpenVPN ?

We are getting desprate over here Shocked

Cheers

Any news on this - or any confirmed way of updating to eg. "dd-wrt.v24-14896_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin"?

Just bought a Netgear 3500L, while checking the DD-WRT router list for support (while in the shop), but didn't realize there were more than one model Sad

I wanted to get started with WRT, but something tells me I'm stuck? Or what? I got the 3500Lv2 model. Sounds great with 128/128mb, but not really if WRT doesn't load? I'm not in the mood for bricking a brand new device Sad

It wont brick. it just wont load.

You can grab a psuedo DD_WRT build from myopenrouter.org, but we are still waiting for an official inclusion.

I'm about to grab a JTAG cable. I have downloaded a couple of favourite releases of the source and am going to give this a go on my own if we cant get anywhere.

Please, someone. We have Cash, Routers Pizza and Beer on offer for anyone who can get this model router into the build tree.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi,

I haven't read all the stuff in this topic just skimmed the last page..
I ordered a WNR3500L v2 and it arrived yesterday. Got dd-wrt working on it.

What I did:

1. Downloaded a chk file for this model (found in somewhere else, dont remember the site...). Its a special chk for the v2 (not official) Archive file: DDWRT_WNR3500Lv2_Final_Release_09-12-2011.tgz.zip
2. Downloaded the recommended k26 build from the wiki
3. Installed it as described in the wiki, works like a charm

I still got the files that worked for mine if u want em I can upload them for you guys.

Thanks for the info.

I'm getting an "upgrade failed" -when I try to flash the K26. But, I think I'm using a different CHK than you did. I got the CHK from the myopenrouter.org site, and it was called ddwrt-wnr3500lv2.chk.

I think I'll go back to the original 3500lv2 firmware (I can get this on the myopenrouter site), and start over using the CHK referenced in the wiki.

Scratch that - it looks like only the source code is available for the original firmware. So, I really don't know what my next step is.. Maybe tomato.

Hi again.. Would you mind posting a link to this file? I'd like to start over again using the same chk that you did. Thanks a lot.

hi use the last chk file on myopenrouter.com
version support release is the last chk file working.
normaly after upload chk file and 30 30 30 load .bin file , so not working upgrade failed. i m curious working bin file because is for wnr3500L v1 not for V2.
if not acces 192.168.1.1 look your network card have valid ip, if not go to the proprieties tcp/ipv4 and make a valid ip example 192.168.1.100 255.255.255.0
and open IE normaly acces home page router.

!!! clear IE cache !!!

Thanks for your response.

I've done all of that, but it seems that the router ius like dead !

I cleard the cache on internet explorer
I used 192.168.1.8/255.255.255.0 as ip adress with ipv4
I've made a 30/30/30 again.

But nothing, I can't access to the routeur web ui Confused

but "netgear genie" seems to see the router, but specifiying that the firmware is not the good. And I can't access to the parameters because login/password are not ok
