Hi,

today I ordered an Edimax 3G-6200nL (not to confuse with the 3G-6200n).

From pictures on an asian website I found out its FCC ID: NDD9512100913

With the ID, I got further information from the FCC web site: https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=133067&fcc_id=%27NDD9512100913%27

It seems like the same hardware is used for different purposes, not only as a wireless router, but also as a print server.

From FCC's internal photos, I can see that it is using a Ralink RT3050F and the memory chip reads A3V28S40ETP.

The source code of its Linux-based firmware is available on the abovementioned manufacturer web site.

So, will it run DD-WRT?

From the same FCC photos you can also see that the flash chip mounted on the back side of the pcb is a MX29LV160 which is 2MByte in size.
This router has therefore ended up in the Known Incompatible Devices dd-wrt wiki page.

The web site says "4 MB NOR Flash", possible it was changed post FCC photos. Actual pictures(High Def if possible) of a purchased unit would be needed for a closer look. Until such photos are produced this device will stay at 2MB and incompatible on my wiki.

Hi,

thanks for your replies so far! Smile

I got the device today, and the syscmd trick also works on it. Very Happy

So, is it possible to point out the real flash size by using shell commands, without opening the device?

So far I tried "cat /proc/meminfo", resulting in
Code:
MemTotal:        13168 kB
MemFree:          1724 kB
Buffers:          1108 kB
Cached:           3448 kB
SwapCached:          0 kB
Active:           3432 kB
Inactive:         1892 kB
SwapTotal:           0 kB
SwapFree:            0 kB
Dirty:               0 kB
Writeback:           0 kB
AnonPages:         780 kB
Mapped:            796 kB

Committed_AS:     1900 kB
VmallocTotal:  1048404 kB
VmallocUsed:     17896 kB
VmallocChunk:  1029676 kB

And "cat /proc/partitions":
Code:

  31     0        192 mtdblock0
  31     1         64 mtdblock1
  31     2         64 mtdblock2

That sounds good! Smile

I wanted to verify that by trying open the device, but after removing the 2 screws at the bottom, I still was not able to open it. Sad

Additional information which I can supply: My device reads "V1.0A" on the bottom sticker, like the one from the aforementioned asian website. The status menu says "Hardware Version: Rev. A".
