Basically, I have a pretty average internet connection. The people that live with me have recently started streaming Netflix all day long on my Xbox 360, leaving me with very laggy online play for my computer. I do not know what ports/info netflix uses, so QoSing it seems next to impossible (been looking for answers for weeks). I have tinkered with the settings for days straight. Hell, I can't even find out what speed my internet is because every damn site/field uses different ratios. On speedtest, I get 2.8mbps download and 0.5 mbps upload. I don't know if it means I have 290~ kbps or 2800 kbps download.
I am not a tech savvy person. All I want simply put is to make my online games the highest priority, and netflix the lowest priority. Every time I try and do something with DD WRT, I end up losing all my connections and have to reset the router (hard reset).
The problem is that my games, I need a low ping - hence a good chunk of bandwidth applied to them. But the applications themselves don't call for much if any bandwidth, so according to netflix/other things on my network, the top priority is idle hence they can keep sucking up all my bandwidth.
