New build for this router:

Firstly I would like to thank You and Mr.Sash for the hard work .
I have flashed the above firmware on my TL-WR2543dn. ver 1.2 from it orginal TPlink firmware.
Much better. The Wifi speed from my SMC wifi adaptor model: SMCWUSB-N has improved by 40% between the router. very simple in flashing.

But there are some flaw which I hope you guys can further improve or tweak. thanks .

1)The 2.4Ghz led light on the tp-link router does not light up even when the Channel Width is set to FULL 20Ghz.So when the Channel is set to AUTO , my SMC 'N'series adaptor cannot detect the router. Because the SMC adaptor is a 2.4Ghz. And the router Channel is running in 5Ghz mode.

My Solution is . I manually set the router Channel to between 1 to 11 . I used channel 6. It works.
I would like to have it tweak or set at Auto Mode.
Because at different time of the day Channel 3 works better and sometime channel 1 ....

2)Also I have a laptop and Android tablet in another room. And the signal bar is only 2bar. ( max is 4bar).
Is there any setting to improve on this.

Thanks. I am very happy with the DD-wrt firmware and hope it can be further tweak to give it best .
I am sure you Guys can do a wonderful job.

As the Linksys WRT320N (+ DD-WRT) had problems with our new 100MBit-WAN-Connection I tried the TP-Link TL-WR2543ND (FW 3.13.6 Build 110923 Rel. 53137n) today and followed the steps posted by maakana. I did a 30-30-30-Reset and flashed both bin-files from here: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2013/05-27-2013-r21676/tplink_tl-wr2543/ (1. factory-to-ddwrt.bin, 2. tl-wr2543-webflash.bin)

Right now I can't complain about anything (100MBit are working fine).

We'll see in the next month/years if my first TP-Link-Device (have been using Linksys since the WRT54G) is able to satisfy my claims. Smile

we have a 250 mbit connection, I use DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/24/13) std - build 22118

on wifi (client connection 150mbps n) I get about 40mbps throughput.
on wired, 140mbps max.
directly from fibre "modem" I get full 250mbit.

surely the capability of this router is greater? any ideas on what could be wrong?

Edit: Problem fixed with this tutorial -> http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr2543nd Smile

I bought TP-Link tl-wr2543nd few days back and flashed latest DD-WRT.

http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2014%2F02-19-2014-r23598%2Ftplink_tl-wr2543%2F

Everything went well and is working fine except for extremely slow WiFi. I fiddled with all the settings and found best combination but the results are still nowhere near the stock fw. Between my desktop (LAN) and laptop (WiFi n) on stock I was getting ~115Mb with this rom I get ~45Mb. And the signal quality for all the wireless clients is ~50%. Best I can get is ~75% when holding my phone right above the router.

What are your experiences? And am I doing something wrong?

I just upload the 02/19/14 wr2543nd firmware and I can see the page but is there a wireless tab? I can't seem to find it. And the wireless is nowhere to be seen by my phone.

What am I doing wrong?

I tried to set it to Full and channel 6, but still, my 2.4GHz devices won't connect nor does the LED light up. My 5GHz devices still work ON 5 GHz, even when explicitely set to 2.4GHz on ch6.

Any clue?

Hello,

i have the same problem here, i even trieed to run this Router with open wrt.
But i have had the same problem with that firmware.
The wireless hardware is not found.
May it be that my Revision of this Router is using a diffrent Chip?

Router Revision: 1.2

I want to use the Router as Wireless-Client, so the Stock Firmware is not very helpful.

Hi

Would like a little bit of advice before flashing DD-WRT for the first time.

My Router is
TP Link WR2543ND
Rev 1.2

The latest firmware in the database is:
http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F2014%2F12-03-2014-r25544%2Ftplink_tl-wr2543%2F

This is 12/03/2014 r25544

Anyone recommend any specific firmware revisions? I see there maybe an issue with the firmware from earlier this year causing slow wifi, has this been fixed? Am I better going with older firmware?

Thanks
Kiwi

Hi, guys. I have a router TL-WR2543ND.
It was on DD-WRT. I tried to make firmware update. Got the latest build (12-22-2014-r25697). Tried to flash. Everything was OK. But the result - a router went into cyclic reboot. It working about 10 seconds and restarts.

Reset 30 or 30/30/30 is not responding. Maybe reset button is disabled in settings.

Please help - how to unbrick it?
Thank U.
